Planning out 2018, the Year it Will All Come Together

I'm thinking ahead to 2018, and trying to come up with a plan of attack. I figure that I will do much better if I can make some kind of schedule to follow. So far I have come up with the following:

January to June: Work Hard

July to December: Get progressively richer.

I think it needs a bit more detail though....

It seems to me that Jay once said he starts his day with some light stretching and meditation-- or at least quiet time thinking about the day ahead. I think I'd like that. Just kind of easing into the day after visualising my goals.

After that, I think I will try to have a pretty structured day, maybe something like:

  • 7:00 Eat breakfast while checking email
  • 8:00 Do my paid written assignments
  • 10:00 Short break
  • 10:15 Do at least 1 lesson here, either new, or review
  • 11:00 Brainstorm ideas for blogs/ reviews, whatever
  • 12:00 Lunch
  • 12:30 Write at least one post
  • 2:00 Short break
  • 2:15 Sharre post/ do social media stuff
  • 3:00 Reading/ Research
  • 4:00 Family time

This is just really rough, but I like the idea of having a set schedule to follow on a daily basis.I am sure that I will tweak things, because I also want to get in shape, which means having more active time/ exercise, but it's a starting point. I might try to hit the gym in the morning and then shift the rest of the schedule forward...

How structured are your days? Do you have a set schedule, or do you make it up as you go? How far in advance do you plan? How well does it work for you?

2018 WILL be the year that my business takes off. One way or another, I will find some success this year. I've already had a taste of it, and I want more. I am determined to go to Vegas, and start earning a full-time salary online.

Good plan and great thoughts. You have inspired me to set up a daily schedule. Thank you. Jay has a website that explains and guides in the Affiliate Market arena. I just found it after last night's webinar. check it out >>https://www.affiliateresources.org
there may be some ideas that you haven't come up with yet.
Much love and a Happy and Prosperous New Year Wish for all of my family.

Thanks!
I have been inspired by jay-- as many of us have-- but never actually visited his site. I just follow the webinars.
I will check it out.

Me, too! I need about 20 more hours in a day! There's so much to learn and so many things I need to read and do! Now I gotta get busy and get some housework done! This is more fun, though!

That's something I forgot to add to my schedule: housework.
I'd love a few more hours in each day....

With the new year approaching, I'm thinking about being more structured and better organized as well. For one, I need to get to bed earlier and get up earlier. Morning is the best time for me as far as productivity, but staying up too late reading or watching videos on YouTube (regarding eBay selling) is my weak spot.

New Year - New Resolve!

I agree, SWagner. I stay up too late reading and responding to people's posts, then don't get up early enough to accomplish what I'd like to do. I'm a night owl by nature, so I need to structure myself to get to bed earlier. Carol

I avoid YouTube as a general rule. It is too much of a time sponge for me. I am one of those guys who will go to check out one video and end up watching 50.

@CraigW315 I feel the same way. "I'll just watch a couple of videos" turns into "Oh no! It's 2:00 a.m."

But I have been checking out vloggers, or successful YouTuber's who get 1,000s of hits, to see what it is they're doing to get so many followers. YouTube is one of those huge social platforms that you can use for affiliate marketing and to drive traffic to your website. I also sell on eBay so watch videos from other eBayer's to get tips and hints on how they run their eBay businesses. There's tons of those videos out there.

So, when hubby turns over and says, "You still up?" I say, "Yes, I'm working." LOL

Looks like a good plan...as soon as I will be able to go full time, the schedule will look similiar....just with one big change...7:00 am...no....i wouldnt need that anymore...I know the early bird catches the worm....but i dont like worms....

But true...you need to be some kind of organized...even harder if your day job goes from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm....right now I am struggling but need to find dedicated time to prepare for the huge change!!!

Thanks for sharing!!!

I am not great at waking up at 7 during the winter months.... In the summer, I often wake up at 5:30 or 6:00.

My main reason for getting up earlier though is to have more family time in the evening. If I get to the point where I can accomplish everything between, say 9 and 3 or 4, then I will adjust accordingly.

Hi there
Great post and thanks for sharing
Your day looks very structured and organised and if you stick to that schedule, I am sure your resolutions will be richly fulfilled
I myself am going to do something similar to what I did last year and that will be to write another 100 or so posts, plus all the other Soc Med stuff and so on
Best wishes for 2018 and beyond
Cheers PB

I need to be structured with the social media stuff. I tend to go on Facebook to post something, and then stay to read stuff, wasting too much time. Then I either don't have time to go post on other sites like Twitter and Instagram, or just plain forget.

I'm hoping that being more structured will help out.

Good afternoon Craig,

Sounds like a good plan. I cannot dedicate my mornings to WA only 1 hour before breakfast. House or garden needs attention and every Friday I am out selling my oranges. Normally the afternoons are quieter. I should not forget my better half needs attention, there you see sometimes it is a dilemma.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Indeed!

I figure that I can give most of the day to WA, because it is basically replacing my job, so it is time that I would normally be away from home anyway. I will leave the late afternoon and evening as family time. My family supports this because I have spent so long without any income that they understand the need for me to invest time right now.

Dear Craig,
Loved your blog, you are very structured, I go with a wing and a prayer these days. Loads of interuptions. I look at my exercise machine and think, I must get out there, but haven't as much as put my tootsies in the pedals.
Hope you have more discipline than me.
Cheers Jae

I don't really, Ha ha. But that's why I need to develop it. We keep hearing over and over that consistency is important to success here, so I am trying to get a good structure in place to help me out.

Sounds like a plan Craig. My schedule will probably shock people, but you asked, so here goes:

11.30pm Wake up, drink coffee, take meds, have family time/chat/watch tv.
2 am Have dinner, more tv and chat.
5 am Work on website, research and write.
6.30 am Try to help folk on WA, read tutorials.
8 am Read and reply to emails, plan posts for tomorrow.
Somewhere between 9/10 am take more meds and fall asleep!
Sleep all day until I get woken up by carer at 11.30pm.

I wish things were not like this but as a survivor of severe sepsis and a sufferer of lung disease, I'm just grateful to still be here! : )

Hi Julianna,
Boy your day is night heh? Gotta be glad you've got something to work on, keep on chatting to us, we all love to hear from you.
Soo hot here in Oz right now, my goal for 2018 is to own a portable AC it's hard to keep awake sometimes.
Happy New Year darling,
Cheers Jae

Wow, I had no idea! I'm grateful you're still here, too! At first, I was thinking that you are just a night owl... But whatever works for you right now is good.I hope that things can improve for you as time goes on.

Hi, Juliana. So sorry to hear you've been so ill, but grateful that you are able to do as much as you do. May you have a Happy, healthier New Year. Carol

Thank you, Craig, for your blog post. I believe that it is very important to have goals, we all have dreams, but without goals and scheduling our daily tasks, we will struggle to achieve very much. Thank you for your inspiration Craig and a very happy and prosperous New Year to you.

Same to you! I am really excited for 2018. I have high hopes for myself and everyone here!

You go, Craig! Your schedule looks like you are going to be one busy guy! Best of luck as you implement it. I need to be more structured and schedule more time for writing and research for my website. I'm making progress, but it's slower than I would like. Happy New Year, Craig!

Happy New Year to you as well. I will be pretty busy I think, but that's good. I need to get things rolling. I am also now looking at this as my job. I have been unemployed for over a year now and I don't see a job on the horizon, so I am pretty much giving myself one.

Congrats on WA being your job, Craig. Did The Dude tell you to do that?! Seriously, I'm happy for you that you can donate more time to WA that way. I'm going to have to look for something to help pay the bills to supplement my income while I'm getting WA off the ground. But don't want to mess with it until after the holidays are over. Guess that'll be next week! Carol

I love the monk in the mountains picture! I also like the idea of stretching.

I have not set any schedules except when doing the weekly posting challenge. I just wing it since I work a regular job too so I have to fit my website time around that and whatever else needs to be taken care of when I am not at work such as grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, having family over for the holidays etc.

However, I have been dreadful at finishing the training so a schedule would certainly help! Good for you.

I know that I personally work best when I have a schedule to follow. If I don't plan for something, I will procrastinate far too much.

I have to finish bootcamp. I am roughly half-way through and I only get to a new lesson every now and then, partly because much of it is familiar from certification. I could use the refresher, though, so I need to focus on that a bit. I also need to catch up on the webinars,a s I missed a couple in recent weeks.

Lots to do!
