I just completely deleted the entire post that I was about to make. (Yes, on purpose.) I realised that it sounded rather negative, dealing as it did with my growing impatience over not being able to draw any traffic, let alone sell anything.
I've let myself become discouraged by seeing other people's sites and thinking that I don't know as much as I should, or that I am not advancing fast enough. I have to remind myself that this is not a race, or a competition. I don't have to beat anyone to a finish line, because there is no finish line. If I have any "opponents" at all, they are my own fear, insecurity and the sudden inertia that has come over me.
So, rather than letting myself focus on negativity, I am going to look at the bright side.
I have lasted longer here than others whom I expected to stick around and go on to great things. I am learning new stuff-- sometimes slowly-- that will eventually see me being successful. I am at the point now that everyone says precedes a breakthrough. WA is soon to be rolling out new things that will make it even easier to be successful, so I am here at a great time. I am enjoying myself even if I haven't made a penny.
As I wrote to Mel (OnMyOwnTerms) yesterday, I am in it until I win it. I need to do myself what I keep telling other people to do: enjoy the journey and let the destination take care of itself.
Yes, I'd love to be successful NOW. Who wouldn't? But the more I let myself get frustrated, or impatient, the more I am delaying that success, so it's time to take a deep breath, clear my head, and get back to work.
I love WA. I love this community. How can I fail with the kind of support we have here?

I look at travel blogs and how successful they are...and I'd love to get mine that way...though i know it will take time

I keep telling other people that even small steps will get you to your destination in time, so long as you keep moving forward. I need to stop saying it and remember to think it myself.
I hear you!!!! I look at the amazing sites people have developed and I am humbled. I think I will never get to their level of competence. I don't understand a massive amount of the technology, but I am telling myself that I am only going to be successful if I hold back my worries and keep on going one step at a time.
I tell my grandson we can eat an elephant one bite at a time. (Not that one would want to ever eat an elephant, but he understands the concept.)
I need to heed my own advice at times here at WA.
The great thing is, I still love it!

Hi Craig - my friend we have all been down this path yes all of us and sometimes you just want to bang your head against the wall
But new things are coming from WA which will help your site also some of use are checking things out now that will also help everyone so just hang in there buddy keep doing what you are doing and learn every day by doing OK

I know that I am far from unique in having my doubts. I'm sure that every single person here has gone through the same, with the determination to push forward being the thing that differentiates those who are successful from those who are not. That knowledge does help, but it's still difficult when one is going through the rough patches.

I certainly hope so. I would like to see results come more quickly, but I know that for every member who starts earning within 3 months, there are many, many more who are still struggling at more than a year.

I know that there is a ton of information available here. My main issue is that I don't feel that I know as much as I should.
