...against the machine, that is called Google!

Recently big G decided that my site wasn't as good as it was before. I use WP Review plugin which adds little stars below your post in Google search results. This really improves CTR and my traffic was improving daily. However, Google decides it your site is worthy or not. I was chuffed that it decided mine was.

However, without any warning Google decided that my site wasn't worthy any more of showing the stars. Not sure why, who really knows about the Google algorithm?

Anyway, I will continue to hammer out posts at 5 / week and just hope that Google decides to add my stars back again later. I continually try to improve the quality of my reviews so I hope this helps to get them back.

The moral of this post?

Don't give up. Keep going. Don't let Google grind you down.

Sorry for your troubles. Good advice though. Don't give up.

Yes Craig, it can be frustrating when big G seems to have full control of the game. And they change cards on the table with no pre-warning. And, when you try to contact them for an explanation, you just cannot. Yep, all too frustrating!!!

Giulia

Steady on mate.

indeed, Craig...stay after them!

I use a stars rating plugin that Jim-Bo recommended, but Google never shows stars in my results, but it does for Jim-Bo's site. Not sure why.

Google is weird

I don't believe it, my review stars are on the way back! What is going with Google???!!!

Happy days.

Google likes to switch things up and give us an emotional ride!

I'm raging against the machine everyday! Lol. Sometimes it feels like a hopeless game. But yes, we must keep pushing forward.

Never give up Grace!

Yes for sure! :)

Hi, I wonder if that's what happened to me the other day, so on April 11th I wrote a blog about it. It may be your answer. I stumbled across this, here is the link to my blog:

Thanks Patsy, I didn't think of that doh! You could be right, maybe if I fix these errors and the address the other things, it might help to add them back.

I just 'happened' to check Google Search Console and saw those 5 new things Google added and..how we have to 'get started'.

I don't have any errors at all and still got the same result. Either way, unless you do those 5 new things, it won't change.

Does that means I have to add this to each post?

I've tested my structured data and no errors

Wow, sorry I have no clue. I haven't even been back there. I'm actually not computer saavy with this stuff. All I know is for that one, you have to get started that's it :)
Sorry, I guess I have to figure it out when I get there.

I am unfortunately familiar with this beast that you speak of.
