No Excuses

It's tough trying to earn money on the internet isn't it? How about holding down 2 jobs at the same time? That's pretty tough too. I know this from personal experience as a lot of you probably do too.

Nobody said it was gonna be easy, unless you arrived here through misinformation.

I didn't. I knew how tough it was gonna be.

I knew this because of my previous failures with affiliate marketing using a different platform. If you read a lot of blogs from successful people on here, a lot of them have failed and came back again to succeed.

I'm not proud of my earlier failures. I wasted one full year trying to make it work. In the end, I realized it wasn't going to work. I had hit a brick wall. I had no support and without real support from real people I couldn't go forward.

Here at WA, we have everything we need. If it isn't working for you, ask yourself why. Have you really put in the effort to make it work? Can you look yourself in the mirror and say YUP, I tried as hard as I could?

I'm not writing this because I am successful. I'm not. I do know members on here who are though and THEY are my inspiration and without them it would be hard to crack on.

Remember Pat Flynn's words:

"Websites only gain full traction around 18 months"

I am writing this because of what happened yesterday. I was completely exhausted after work and a poor night's sleep and I just couldn't be bothered working on my website.

But I did.

I shook off my slumber and forced myself to do it. In the end, I wrote a 1200 word review, sent out an email campaign for a Flash Sale and created a new Facebook Ad campaign.

I even managed a few glasses of wine at the same time. How did I manage this? Because whenever I go to my local bar/restaurant I take my laptop.

IT HAS BECOME AN EXTENSION OF ME. When I started getting really busy in my day job I decided that wherever I went, my laptop went. Okay, a slight exaggeration but you get my drift.

Believe me when I say this. I woke up with a spring in my step this morning. Remember folks, it will all be worth it in the end. Don't give up and follow your dream.

Wow, this is fantastic Craig, so motivational! I love what you say, "I'm not proud of my earlier failures." because without those failures, you can'rt appreciate the successes,

Everyone should get into that habit of bringing their laptop everywhere they go. Great job!

Thanks Kaju, it's the only way I can do it.

Great motivation, many thanks Craig! Sue :)

You are very welcome Sue!

Thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes we lose sight and give up easily.

Very true! You are welcome.

Hi, Mr. Craig,
wonderful post thanks.

You're welcome!

Just as a word those that do blog full still work like crazy. I have had the luck to do this full time from the very beginning thanks to a zero seconds income source.

To get where I am, which is not quite a full time income yet but getting there - kinda part time income. I have had to work like crazy most days were 7 am to midnight with breaks in between for normal stuff like food and a siesta!

7 days a week! for 20 months. Pat Flynn, great quote but most people it is around 2 year mark, maybe even 3 before they can give up the day job.

hard work but worth it.

Great post Craig,

Terima Kashi :-)

Sama2 Derek!

You've put in a great effort and I am sure you will reap the rewards later. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on full traction for websites. It's great information for people that think it should be happening instantly.

I look forward to the day when I can go full time.

Sama Sama!!

remember the goal is not to glued to your laptop when you do get to the point where you can give up one or better still both jobs. Take a soft approach to it and slowly integrate and bring in a Pro writer and then all your job is watch it continue to grow and proof read, do the SEO, beautify and publish plus social media side of it and everything else.

Profit wise, I'll be clear - not making a single Ringuut, dollar or pound as I do reinvest it all back into the site (content, articles.).

Tips for outsourcing, do it slowly and have back up writers if one flakes or quits on you - you are not left exposed. And work a couple of months in advance too, double back up and give you time to find a good writer for your niche.

I'll be in KL next week, during the week but I am a little busy with other friends and stuff with the Embassy. Next time I try be at weekends and get a meet up with you. who knows, could learn from each other over a wine or two.

Cheers Derek,

I'm off to Redang in September so I was thinking about hiring a writer when I am away. Either that or take my lappy with me he he.

Thanks for the tips, I will take heed.

Yeah we can meet another time, no worries. I'm busy with day job and night job anyway ha ha.

Words of wisdom! Thank you

You're welcome :)

Thanks for inspiring us all.
I'm kicking myself because yesterday I didn't do a thing for my website. But today will be a different story, especially after reading this post.

That's superb! It's okay to have a day off to recharge.

Thanks for sharing, Craig.

No worries Rog

Way to go Craig! I believe I can say I've been working as much as I can on my site. I've been working on this epic guide that's over 6000 words too. I hope it will convert well. LOL

You are a grafter Grace and I have nothing but respect for you. Tell me when it's finished and I will leave a comment.

That's so nice of you Craig! I know you do so much so I have the same respect for you... especially how well your site is doing and while holding two jobs down. I really have no excuse not making as much money as you but I just don't understand why I'm not. I'm still publishing 4 posts a week since Feb. I know it's coming but man, some days are hard to keep going when I don't know if it will all pay off.

I should check if this guide will have any comments available. :)

Don't mention it Grace, it doesn't take much to leave a comment and I like to pay it forward. I know how you are feeling and I've been there myself. I still despair but I keep telling myself it will all be worth it. I need to stop checking my affiliate accounts ha ha.

Or be so obsessed with my google analytics! Lol

Analytics are okay, it gives us an idea of what is working, but you're right, it can become a bit of an obsession.

Great Post Craig!... I was needing this! :)
thanks a lot!

That's great Giancarlos! We all need this from time to time, myself included!
