Kyle and Carson have been very clever
Every time someone writes a blog it adds content to the WA site. A bit like I am doing now. I'm assuming this adds to the site trust and ranking of any site. At least that's what I believe.
Kyle and Carson have created a system that encourages people to write blogs. This then improves their ranking and you can even become an Ambassador! The more blogs you write, the higher your rank, etc.
This really appeals to a lot of people, you can see that by how they eventually climb the ladder to Ambassador peerage.
It's one thing getting there
However, it's a rare breed that can stay at the top of this ladder and you will see members regularly reaching that status, only to drop off again when they cannot maintain it.
But, there's always new blood coming in with the same goals and aspirations and round and round we go again.
I am focused on my site
I used to think it was great having a high rank but the novelty soon wore off when I realized I had to focus on my site and getting it ranked.
It just kinda struck me today, how clever this system really is. Don't get me wrong, we are also encouraged to write blogs to practice and hone our writing skills.
For sure, this definitely helps and the more blogs we write, the more ranks that WA get and the more referrals that come here.
It really is a great system, don't you think?

Yes, Craig...
Another great thing about this domain is that it carries a lot of authority. When you add you niche website on your profile page, you can get some link juice from it...
Who knows who will stop by your page, then click on your website link? It can also be useful in other ways, such as adding a link to a good quality post you make here on your Blog dot com site, your Quora site, or through Medium...
Of course, you can also add the links from posts to other social platforms such as Facebook (groups, pages, and timelines), Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.
Lots of ways to leverage the power this membership site offers, it is up to our imagination, drive, and thoroughness in carrying out our online business marketing strategy!
Ranking here in and of itself will not help much when it comes to your business, although it can add some credibility, reputation, and name/brand recognition I guess...
Cheers!
Dave : )
Yup there's so many different ways to benefit but it's definitely more advantageous for boot campers in my opinion.
However, the membership benefits are what does it for me. Everything in one place and value for money.
Thanks for your comment Dave.
Craig, it's a great system, because when I write blog posts here, the best ones get re-posted on my website - so not only am I honing my writing craft, in the process I am developing blog posts for my website, which are driving my website ranking up. I'm shooting 2 ducks with one bullet! The WA ranking is only a byproduct of the system working.
Yes, Craig, I totally agree. It is a great system but I have also discovered that you really need to focus your attention on your website development as a priority. Thanks
Wayne
Hi Craig and I thank that WA is doing a great thing by making a person write because writing is the thing that attracts traffic to your website!
OK so you do go up and down the ladder been up and down a few times but it is all about learning and then learning to work smart!!!
Blogs here at WA do not only helps you rank within this system, when you write your blogs in a good way, you can also attract referrals to WA, that's a very nice side effect. Blog with Wealthy Affiliate, how many chances did you miss?
Definitely Loes. These blogs are easy to spot, in the main. I've done a few myself but I prefer to focus more on my niche.
Yes, the mechanics are well thought out. I like WA and am happy with any rank that I achieve. The training is worth it. Congratulations on your performance. Have a good one. Thank you for this perspective
It's a catch 22, sometimes it can add trust, sometimes and many times it can be low quality content (and sometimes irrelevant).
One thing that "clever" folks are doing here is leveraging the authority of WA and offering quality content n their blog posts that targets certain keywords in this space. If it ranks, you get full credit for all the traffic your content generates from search engines here at WA.
If someone visits your post as a guest, your cookie is set and if they join you are going to get full credit for the referral.
Absolutely! It's something that I would do too. More so if I was in that niche, although I have done the odd one or two that got ranked on page 1.
I try to make my posts here relevant and useful to the members and readers. Relevant and useful in the sense of providing useful tips and resources and motivation. (Heavy on the t&r and light on the motivation.) Thus, I have "only" 100 posts.
Leveraging the authority, means leveraging the ranking power of WA.
If you are going to contribute and offer value to the community, you might as well focus on keywords within the titles of your posts (versus stuff like "hello", "yes", "awesome", "what's this"), if you put some effort into writing your titles the same as you would on your website it will be highly beneficial to you.
