Is this spam?
I'm assuming this is some type of Spam but there is no comment. They do however, have a URL.
I have rec'd this quite a number of times now and just add it to Spam bin each time. I just wondered if anyone else had rec'd this?

I just got one similar to that from uk.virtono.com. I just deleted the comment. Nice to know that they think I get traffic.
I have received a couple of those comments. someone told me to delete them as they are someone trying to link to your site. They explained it to me but I don't remember exactly what it means anymore, sry. So I would delete them.
That's strange.
Haven't received that. Someone must be targeting you because you are in that niche.
Never approve stuff like that.
But I am sure you aren't. :)
A pity that it doesn't get picked up by our anti-spam protection.
Already deleted, very poor attempt if you ask me. Did they really think I would approve that?

It's a ping back, notifying you someone gave you a back link, I don't think it needs to be deleted.
Wow Grace, this is interesting. Why should it appear as a comment? Have you had these?
I've had experience with them before, not on my current site. Ping backs come in as comments, I don't know why but that's how they come in.
Should I just leave it or delete it? Surely I shouldn't approve it?
Go to the site to see if it's a spammer or not, decide then.
Good idea, thanks.
I usually delete these. I think they are a sneaky way to get backlinks. They can be done by spammers by temporarily creating a backlink to your site so that it triggers a ping back like this, then when you visit their website you don't see the link to your site becuse it's been removed.
Yep, I've had them too, only a couple of times, but I have deleted them. I wouldn't trust to open a link that I'm not familiar with, in case of virus contamination.
