Getting traffic up to 1000 per day

We are all trying to get organic traffic and some have more success than others. At the end of the day it's all about earnings and traffic plays a big part of that.

Of course, there's other important ways to increase our earnings and an email list is also very important.

I've been thinking about how I can get my organic traffic up to 1000/day and I honestly feel that I would have to post every day for 18 months.

It's a constant struggle and just when I think I'm on the right track it tails off again.

Solutions

Hiring a writer to increase website content:

I'm still toying with the idea of hiring a writer but it can be expensive. I know there are services where you can get $25 per 1000 words but multiply that by 8 and that's $200 out of the earnings pot.

That's fine if you are earning 10 x that but at the moment I'm not.

Scale up presence on Social Media:

I'm not very enthusiastic about this but I know it works for some people in certain niches. I'm not sure it would cut the mustard in my niche (IPTV, VPNs and TV Boxes).

Can 1000 / day Traffic be achieved Solo?

I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on this.

TV Boxes generally have a shelf life of around 2 years. That means a TV box that is older than that is no longer desirable.

That means people will stop searching for it. Basically, my niche generally has a 2 year cycle for searches. So, it's how many reviews I can write in 2 years that will determine my traffic. That's putting it bluntly but you get my drift.

I reckon I can write 400 posts in 2 years. I've been doing this for around 10 months and my traffic is averaging 200 / day at the moment.

Do you think 400 posts in 2 years is enough to get 1000 daily traffic?

Hi Craig - I have seen that when I changed over to https my traffic took a big dive and seems to be still way down inspire of my doing the usual things to increase it - before the change I actually did have a two day run of over 1000 visitors a day!!!!

P

That's interesting Paul. My site has been HTTPS since day one though so it can't be that. It dropped off a bit when big bad Google decided my site was not worthy of reviews stars (Google showed them before but then changed her mind)

Good to hear but I only changed a few weeks ago and so had to resubmit as a new property and t has been like starting all over again!!!

P

About the review stars - I also lost them at my reviews in the SERPs. After I checked for errors in Google Search Console and corrected a few, the stars have however come back on some of the reviews. not all of them, but quiyte a few of them, which is great.

So if you have not cheked yet, try to check for errors in the structured data in Google Search Console.

All the best,
Mikael

Hi, I checked all my structured data on your reco and 0 errors with schema mark-up. I have resubmitted my sitemap so hopefully that may help. Cheers.

lets hope he starts will come back soon then:-)

All the best
Mikael

Yes, my traffic is still down months after switching over! I am now finally back to having all my posts indexed but I had to send each one to be fetched manually and do it twice, once for desktop and once for mobile. It did not just happen automatically when I submitted my sitemap.

I think now that all my posts are indexed again I will finally get some more traffic but it has been really slow.

The law of numbers will always prevail. As you build out your content and as you start to gain authority and rankings in Google your traffic will cumulatively grow.

Sometimes though (and it will happen at a higher rate with volume), you will rank under keywords that get several 100 uniques per day. Sometimes you may hit a keyword that gets over 1,000 uniques per day.

That is the reality as you scale and as you build out your business. Your 6K uniques per month is nothing to laugh at and as you forge forward, this is only going to continue to grow.

Don't jump into things though and push your budget beyond your means. Write half of your posts, outsource the other half an aim to do 3-4 posts per week and as you get a budget, scale to 6-8.

Everyone's path to scaling their business will look a little different and you have to do what is the most natural feeling to you. :)

Thanks for your input Kyle, it's always appreciated. I remember reading your post about traffic and how it can grow exponentially when it really takes off.

I feel that when I can reach that level (1000 / day) my business will really take off with respect to earnings.

Absolutely spot on (Kyles reply) btw 200 per day at 10 months seems to me to be pretty good. Personally, I don't do social media, but I really appreciate the value of the traffic and knock on SEO effect (traffic from multiple sources) just my niche is really really not social media friendly at all.

19 months I am doing approx 270 daily (75% SEO traffic) and 320 posts published. - Last month haha 150 visitors daily on average. the difference? 50%+ up in one month? guest post on high quality related and relevant sites in your niche. Mine, well I was VERY lucky to be invited to post for a VERY high ranking and related site .. boom and absolute traffic avalanche and rankings kick too!

As for content 75% of mine is outsourced at $15 per 1000 words from upwork. I have no other real costs related to my site and reinvest as much as I can into content which allows me more free time for other stuff like updating and improving older posts and their SEO (difference 60% vs 75% SEO traffic).

When it comes to content creation it really does help to write on other peoples sites. As I say you can't lose with a writer as naturally we all write in different styles, use different words and phrases and inevitable rank for different keywords - that is where you can't lose with a professional writer and not just quality of the content.

In respect to traffic what counts more to me is conversions and earnings per 1000 visitors. 1000 visitors daily isn't much if your EPM is say $10 but pretty awesome if it is $100. (that btw is how my writer helped me A LOT from $65 to $100+ EPM and conversion up from 8% to almost 20% most months)

So, when hiring do ask for samples and a variety at that - ya know reviews, informative posts, a mix of work. A taken on slowly, slowly building up the work load so that your writer knows exactly what you want and what you are looking for, for your site. And don't be afraid to ask for rewrites or get stuff fixed and never forget a writer is never just a writer but a highly valued employee and treat them as such - you'll end up with more enthusiasm and better quality more effort. Simply be the boss you dreamed of having!

BTW you writer may just be a great source of similar bloggers who may be willing to receive guest posts - your writer can put a word in for you..why? more work for them! (sneaky huh!)

Hi Derek, thanks for your input, it's appreciated. I love being able to compare with members who are a bit further down the line from me. Thanks for letting me know your stats so it sound like I am on the right track.

You mentioned about writing on other people's sites. How do I do that? Thanks for the tips on hiring writers. I will definitely look into that a little further down the line.

Hi there, thanks for the post. That is some really good thoughts. I'm not sure I can help you here as I'm just starting since 2 months. It look like you're on the right track already with 200/users/days.

Thanks Sylvain and good luck on your venture!

Very important information there.

Thanks, I agree Paul :)

Thanks for sharing, Craig.

I honestly think it would be difficult to write 400 posts in 2 years, but since I am just getting started I may not be a good judge of this. Good luck with increasing your daily traffic.

Wayne

Hi Wayne, it's difficult but not insurmountable. I have 163 posts in 10 months which is 16.3 average. Multiplied that by 12 = 195.6

Wayne - actually pretty easy.

year 1: 1 post every other day = 180 year
Year 2: Up productivity to 20 posts per month 240 1 post M-F every week
Total = 420.

I find it pretty easy but I do this full time and have taken on a writer to improve the quality. Actually continuing my formula of increasing productivity by 5 posts per month per year...after year 5? 1500 posts!

Thanks, Derek.

Wayne

You pose some interesting questions. I can see you have thought this through very thoroughly. I'm not sure how anyone can write a post a day when I can barely get a post or two a week in. Some people are doing just that. I hope that one of them sees your post and can answer that question for you. Because I can't. Sorry. I hope you get the answers you seek.

I never stop thinking about it Jean!

I think it's possible. What you can do other than writing reviews is to create informative/data-based/factual contents around your niche. After that, you can outreach to companies or influencers in your niche to promote your online presence.

Reaching out to these parties together with content creation can really help you grow your traffic especially when your website is recognized by the big companies as the "go-to" site for information on VPN all these.

That will take some constant outreach effort and some luck. One day, your site will become the "go-to" authority site in this niche and you'll get tons of traffic.

I believe in you Craig! You're doing really well currently:)

Keep up the good work and all the best!

Jerry

Hi Jerry, thanks for the thoughts. Some good ideas there that you mention. I think after 2 years it will be possible to scale it up on a bigger scale with promotions and even hiring writers.

Yup :)

By the way, if any company in your niche recognize you as a good resource and give you a link or recommendation, I'm sure your traffic and sales will increase drastically! Outreaching can be very powerful when you do it right but it takes time and effort definitely.

Thanks for your repley

You're welcome:)

Thanks for sharing, Craig.

Possible niche specific Craig!

Yep - just a shot in the dark here UKTV - might get a lot of traffic by being a regular member and poster in expat forums (Thai Visa is an example of just one) ya know where you can leave a link in your signature. But don't spam them just interact as normal.

Plenty retired UK expats love their UK TV ya know eastenders corrie and so on.

I'm going to try and be more active in FB Groups. Funny you should mention that I've just joined one such Group.
