I was supposed to be productive tonight.

My girlfriend is out of town and I have the place to myself. Excellent I can get some work done without being distracted.

From what I can understand, you have around 26 posts on you site. If you look at the competition for the making money online niche this is not a lot and still a very new site. It takes time to get rankings in a niche like that and especially if you are new to it. It is probably one of the most competitive niches there is.

About your WA review - think about how many members that WA has and that more or less everyone has a WA review, and many has authorative websites with hundreds of posts and a domain that is several years old. I would not worry about trying to rank the WA review itself for now. You can link to that from the other posts and pages, and then eventually it will maybe slowly start moving up.

At this moment, I think it is best to just keep following the training, creating content and not worrying about checking your ranks for a while.

You are doing a great job. Just keep it going.

All the best,
Mikael

Thanks for your support.

I am just frustrated because some of my posts are really low competition.

I never expected to be ranked highly so early in my website's life but to not be ranked at all was a bit of a shock.

I think I will just need to forget about Jaaxy and stick to what I'm doing for now.

Jaaxy is great for you to use to do KW research and later to check rankings. Sometimes it is just easy to get caught up in checking rankings and thenwe become less patient - I know this from myself:-)

Low competition KW do not necessarily mean that we will very quickly get to page 1. There are so many factors that plays a part.

But wishes you all the best

Mikael

Some content ranks and some don't, why? Who knows!
This is why it is important to keep posting consistently, it's just a numbers game :-)

I know this John but I am not encouraged by these numbers!

Any idea why my pages are coming up in google searches but not on Jaaxy?

Even when you're not signed in to Google you'll still see the results Google thinks you want to see. Your browser is full of cookies. Try a different browser or an incognito window for more accurate results.

Have you submitted your sitemap to Google?

I am using different browsers on different PCs.

My WA review "A honest Wealthy Affiliate Review" is appearing on Page 1 on Google when I search but Jaaxy says it doesn't appear on the top 10 pages.

My page is Quittheoffice.com. Can other people see this on Google?

I will have a look at these videos later Marion, thanks :)

This is what I see on Chrome for your keyword. I check the first three pages and your site is not there :(

I used speech marks around the words when I did it, maybe Jaaxy doesn't do this.

When I search without quote marks it doesn't show on the first 3 pages for me either.

Still a long way to go obviously!

searching with quote marks is not a good indicator of where your rankings sit because this is not how normal people would search.

Honestly I don't put much merit into all of that. I focus more on becoming a better writer within my niche. And writing content. I think that is a great way to distract but not a great way to move forward. If you focus on just writing decent content and keep moving forward that should be enough.

I fully agree.

This has always been how I have looked at it. I do not think I am in the position yet to be on page 1 of Google every time.

I just find it really really weird that I have managed to write 20 odd posts mainly with low competition keywords (under 50 is my target) and every single one is unranked.

I was happy working away knowing results are going to come further down the line but now it feels like I have done something wrong.

Keep building up your posts and content Craig!

I will keep going and I think I have been doing well.

My main concern is that there is a technical issue with my page that is stopping Jaaxy from picking up my rankings.

Surely some of these pages should be getting ranked (even in position 96) but to have all but 3 completely unranked seems weird.

WA Affiliate Program

I am creating my website promoting Wealthy Affiliate as a way to earn money from home and quit your job.

NO. Do not do that. WA banners are the same as affiliate links, unless you are using the image only Even if you use the image only without your affiliate link attached to it, I still wouldn't use them on every page and post. It will look spammy.

Try finding some relevant images instead from free image websites like Pixabay or create your own. Images like WordPress Editor screens, SEO logos, people working from home on a computer, online training, images of success,...

If you want to use a banner and have it appear on every page and post, select one that will fit into your website sidebar widget. Seeing how your sidebar is always visible, placing a banner there will be seen on every page and post.

thanks for the advice Robert.

Does having the banner in the sidebar come across as spammy though?

If it is a bad idea to post it on every page would having it there as a banner be acceptable or would it still have the same effect to rankings?

Having it in your sidebar will not make it seem spammy, that is considered free space within your website.

Only if the banner resides within the content portion of the page or post, will Google consider it spammy and lower your rankings.

Thanks Robert, Much appreciated!

Have a good weekend.

You are welcome.

If you use it on each post only use it once. Then vary where it is. One post on the bottom, one post on the top, one post in the middle so people do not get blind to it. Also vary which banner you use until you find the one that is getting clicked the most. Then use that one.

A banner on the side bar with a header that is a call to action also works. Just the banner on the side bar does not work near as good.

Thanks for the advice,

I do not think I have used it on every single post. Where I have used it I will check to make sure it is only once and no more.

Hi Craig,

I only used the WA banner in the review I did of WA just so they could click on it and join us. Otherwise for all my other posts and pages on my site I have the WA 160x600 banner in my right column so it appears on all my pages. I also in most cases sign my posts as follows:
Wish you the best of success in your endeavors.
Joe Reinbold
Affiliate of Wealthy Affiliate – A Place To Learn and Earn

and the last line is linked to my WA affiliate page. If you want an example, go to my profile and visit the site creating income at home
Have a great day.
Joe

Hey Joe thanks for the advice,

Would you say that the sidebar is a good option for getting sales?

Do you think that it comes across as spammy to have the banner on every page?

Hi Craig,
I personally like having them on the sidebar and I have them there on all my sites. I wouldn't go overboard though. I don't believe it is spammy if you do it moderately. You have people coming to your site because they are interested in the topic. They may not go to another page after they read what they are interested in. We hope that they will be interested enough to take a look around the site and see something they would like to join or buy. So you can't really say, I am going to put them on this or that page since you really don't know what page will get the visitors. So putting them on the sidebar takes care of that.
Wish you the best. Joe

I wouldn't use it in every post. Maybe you can send them to a review page instead.

Hey guys,

I am starting to get pages ranked on google but the title on google is just my website name, not the p

This is because the post itself is not ranked yet, and Google is showing the place where it exists, and this is your blog roll i.e., your home page.

Give it some time.

Keep posting, no worry.

Thank you for your help Jovo.

I did hope it would be something like this, like I said my site is only a week old and I have been on a mission with writing loads of posts so I didn't want to go any further in case I had made a mistake.

I will get back to writing.

Use Fetch in Webmaster, this will tell Google to come and index your post. It can be indexed in minutes, or overnight.

When you are inserting affiliate links into posts/pages, what kind of links receive the most clicks & conversion?

We have access to banners, photo links, text links

It may seem somewhat obvious but, the best kinds of affiliate programs are programs that have a combo of all those components. I have found affiliate campaigns with every niche I have looked into.

What is your niche? We can work this out trial and error. It will all depends on your audience where, where they go on your page, etc.

My latest post has "REIVEW" in the title. I have since changed it to "REVIEW".

I can't find my page on google, will it correct itself eventually or is this post a write o

Hope you got this sorted out...spelling is VERY important!
I noticed there was a great link provided by Loes...which I am going to read as well...
Best wishes

What I have found helpful when doing posts is saving a draft and then previewing, it helps to go over it much better and catch mistakes, but I also have Grammarly as well.

Yes, make sure you also change the permalink when you make the correction...Google will pick up the change when they send their 'bots to your sites...

I have updated posts in the past with new information, more graphics, etc. and these are always picked up within a day or so by Google, sometimes faster...

No worries! The Grammarly idea is a good one, I use it all the time, as my eyes have gotten worse has become a must-have fo me!

Cheers!
Dave : )

Cheers Dave, I have just updated the permalink now, will look into grammarly too

You might want to consider using a tool called Grammarly to create your posts. This tool will do your proofreading for you and let you know you have issues before you post. If you use Chrome as your browser there's a Chrome extension you can download that will work directly in WP. Otherwise, you can create your post in Grammarly and then copy it into WP. We all make these types of errors. It's good to catch them early.

Always best to not get too excited to post. After you have finished, let the post sit for a bit, then go back to it and proofread it as if you were critiquing it.

This is allow you to see your errors and correct them before publishing.

Don't worry, we all make mistakes.

You can fetch the new post and ask to remove the wrong spelled one

Thanks, will check it out!

I'm sorry to say you've also misspelled, misspelled in your title! Try to proofread everything before you hit the publish button :) You may also need to change the URL of your post to get it read properly by Google.

I would love to say that was intentional for effect but it was indeed another silly mistake! Thanks Jude :)
