What is it? It is a way for publishers to allow Google to use the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to optimize ads on websites automatically; you only need one website placeholder code; once placed, Google takes care of the rest.
Benefits
One piece of code does the job; more may slow down our sites.
Auto-optimization as Google sees fit. Thus improving the performance of adverts; increasing
the RPM (page revenue per thousand impressions).
Ease of Use, a switch ON | OFF from within Adsense.
Adverts for AMP (accelerated mobile pages) are beneficial sites that increase organic traffic to AMP pages.
More than three adverts per page, thus increasing the revenue through PPC (pay-per-click) for publishers.
Disadvantages
No control; it is all auto-optimization. Auto ads place adverts in areas many publishers may not have thought feasible to make money.
Spamming adverts mainly use a whole range of adverts, although user experience is considered.

My sites are too young and don’t have enough content yet to qualify but I’m definitely going to apply when they’re qualified I like the idea that the advertising learns to tie in with your niche, if they slow your site down I’m assuming you can disable it and revert your site back? Good luck lulu 👍

I don”t have Adsense yet.
I did apply a month ago, it shows will reply in two weeks. But more than two weeks passed and no reply from Google Adsense.

I am having second thoughts whether I apply or not, I am not sure if it clutters or slows down sites, but some members said not, am gonna see what I decide later. Apologies but I don't know the procedure how I would follow up if I didn't hear from Google AdSense.

Absolutely! At first they just post misc ads that don’t necessarily match your content. However, the algorithm “learns” and in a while, it’ll figure it out and start spitting out content-appropriate ads.

Thank you for the valuable info, do you find if they clutter your site because obviously we have no control over them?
I find that they are more discreet than others. Generally, I get an ad in my header, one on the side bar and one in the middle of the content. Of course, you can adjust this in AdSense. I’ve used others but they just overload the site with spammy posts that have NO relevance to my niche.

I have autosense ads on my site. I like them mainly because they pay me when people click on the ads.
Equally I have control over them because I can disable them if I want too.
I have also received a rather nice payment from Google to my bank for ads shown.

My site is still young I am having second thoughts about Google Adsense because I think they will clutter and slow down my site. Do you find the latter true? Clutter is personal preference. Anything else you want to add, I'll be delighted to know.

Honestly not sure I want someone else’s adds on my site. “They” are piggybacking off my hard work. I also don’t have 100% control of the add. (I believe) Would a different add type upset any potential organic traffic stopping them becoming customers. I think I would be happier researching and promoting services and products I feel comfortable with for my niche. Thanks Countrlylife you have just helped me decide the direction of my site. I have invested too much time to hand over the decisions on adds.
If I change my mind, I can always change later. But if I do it now ( in my newbie phase) it could affect future directions.
