The Return Of The Walking Dead

Yep, it's that time again.

Sunday night was the premiere of Season 8 of The Walking Dead. The 100th episode!

It was preceded by a Walking Dead Marathon, which replayed all previous 99 episodes, including the final episode of Season 7, with never previously seen bonus footage, leading up to the airing of the 100th episode Sunday night.

The new Walking Dead was immediately followed by a 2-hour special "Talking Dead," live from The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Nearly every cast member participated in this extravaganza. Many of the actors were greeted with loud cheers and thunderous applause.

The Producers of the show also revealed that there will be a new crossover series, mixing elements and characters of The Walking Dead and it's mid-season replacement, "Fear The Walking Dead." Should be very cool.

Just goes to show, if you've got a great idea, ride that horse as long and as hard as you can.

Many of the Producers of the show credit the late George Romero (1940-2017), creator of 1968's "Night Of The Living Dead," as their inspiration.

So, I started researching The Walking Dead phenomenon a little more deeply, and I uncovered 5 additional shows currently on the drawing board...

1. A show on the Home and Garden channel about a zombie named Rotten Phil, who specializes in sprucing up tubs and showers..."The Caulking Dead."

2. An ESPN show about the first ever zombie Major League Baseball pitcher, Stinky Stretchman, whose biggest challenge seems to be...Yep, you guessed it!..."The Balking Dead."

3. A Reality TV show about a zombie, Noab Dominals, who enjoys cruising past the scene of traffic accidents and slowing WAY DOWN..."The Gawking Dead."

4. A show about a renowned zombie Theoretical Physicist, who continues to make great contributions to his field..."The Hawking Dead."

5. Finally, the story of an all-dead Rock Band (Let's see...The Stones have been playing together for, what, 55 years? They're still pretty good!)..."The Rocking Dead."

Keep on smiling, and keep on rocking!

Very good Rick! I am a fan of the show so I am missing Glen and Abraham but the show must go on!

Yep. The creators of the show are only too willing to kill off major characters, Keith. Probably not certain ones, though, like Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Carl, etc.

Ugh, I just can't watch these shows....I feel like they are mocking our intelligence level. However, I DO like your ideas especially the last one. Such a creative mind you have....................

~Debbi

Thanks, Debbie. If you can get past the zombies, the shows are really well written. :)

I'll have to take your word for it...

Oh..oh...don't judge me...I've never watched the show!
Debbie

Get on it, Debbie-It's a great show! :)

Now we have to fear when they go live Rick. That will be a real show!

The Walking Dead...LIVE! :)

cute. thanks. Jay

Thank you, Jay.

I can see that you are a serious fan. :)

I like the show, David. :)

This is at my house forbidden to look at in the living room, when my daughter wants to see that kind of rubbish, she can go up to their room, and watch it on her own television

lol

It's only make-up and special effects, Loes. What makes it good is the people, though, but I admit I like the Walkers, too. :)

I know it's a hot series, my daughter, and everyone I know loves it, I watched it once, and it just doesn't have that effect on me

We're all different, with our own likes and dislikes. I'm not big on the home and garden stuff. :)

These guys seem to have a most vivid imagination. The 100th episode!:))

I believe it's the most popular show on TV! :))

Have any actors been changed since the beginning of the production?:))

Oh, yes, Vera. They are not beyond killing off main characters. :))

I asked because there were shows on our television on and on with all the same sets of actors. A kind of boring I guess, and what is worse, with the same actors going from one show to another.:))

Fans of Walking Dead actually get mad, because they kill off one of their favorites from time to time! :))

Oh yeah... I imagine. One thing is to send them on an expedition to another planet and another is to kill....I'd be mad, too.:)))
