Never Lose Hope!

Hope is what keeps us going.

It's 6 PM here...the skies have darkened and a heavy rain is falling. The wind has been gusting up to 60 miles per hour.

Hurricane locks have been put on the garage doors, but my car is parked outside, in the driveway of my friends' neighbor. It is at a safer distance from the large oak trees that dot this community. Inside are books with all the songs, poetry, plays, and short stories I have written in my lifetime.

The creative output of many years.

In times of trouble, we find out what is most important to us.

We watched Guardians Of The Galaxy, to get away for a while from the constant weather reports. We wanted to rent Guardians 2, but figured we'd lose power before we finished watching it.

Returning to the weather channel, we discovered that the hurricane has actually moved a bit to the East. Landfall was made near Naples, Florida, much earlier than expected, and will surely help weaken the storm somewhat before it reaches us here, with its full fury.

Instead of what was originally Category 5 and 185 miles an hour, it may be down to Category 2, and 115, with occasional higher gusts, by the time it reaches us here.

I am encouraged by this news, and storm surge predictions have also been lowered somewhat for my area.

I've just heard from my daughter, currently at work in the 911 operations center, that it may actually be down to a Level 1 by the time it reaches us!

We are not out of the woods, by any means, but we have renewed hope, and the news is better than it was just a few hours ago.

I may have a home to return to!

God bless you all, and many thanks for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers.

Keep 'em comin'!

Glad to hear things are looking up! Whew!

Whew! is right, Pat. Thank you so much for your support! :)

Thanks for sharing, Rick.

Thanks so much, Rog. Glad to be getting back to normal!

Good to hear from you. Will pray for that level one, you and your Family stay safe.

You did it, Deb. So grateful for all the prayers and the caring people. Getting back to normal. :)

Hi Rick,
My thoughts and prayers are with you . I have been through 5 Tropical Storms/Typhoons when I was on Wake Island. They are never fun. It sounds like the system is weakening, hopefully it will weaken even more when it reaches your locale. Best wishes.
Bill

Thanks so much for your prayers and support, Bill. Weathered the storm OK!

Hi Rick,
Glad to hear everything is as good as can be expected. Best wishes for the future.

You didn't mention your guitar, Rick!:)))

I thought about taking my guitar, but I didn't do it. I put it in a windowless closet-the safest place I could think of! My songs and other creative output went with me in the car. :)))

I think one day you will write a nice story of all that with the proposed title "Guitar in the closet", or something like that. Praise God! It's all over.:)))

Rick - Great to hear! Stay safe and we will be thinking of you. All the best.

Thank you so much, Patrick. I appreciate your support!

Prayers, prayers, and more prayers!!

Try to keep us informed if at all possible. Can't get you and your situation off my mind..........

You did it, Tammi! Praise God, who kept us safe. I'm now getting back to normal, after a lot of clean-up efforts. Thank you. :)

Awesome news Rick! Isn't it funny how we view a Cat 1 Hurricane as good news? I have a feeling you are going to be just fine and come through this all the better! Thanks for checking in with us. Many, including myself, have been very concerned for you! We will continue with thoughts and prayers until this thing passes away!

Yes, Cindy...Almost like a light summer breeze...The hurricane looked like a deadly thing yesterday.Praise God!:)))

Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers, Cindy-came through all right in a situation that could have been much, much worse. :)

Terrified to think what might have happened if it had retained its predicted intensity.:(

Thank goodness rick. I was quite worried. Prayers do get answered . Be careful until the last of it is gone my friend!

Praise God! He does answer the prayers!:))

It's gone now, Mike. There was some concern over storm surge, but even that did not materialize where I'm at. The river came out of its' banks, but nowhere close to flooding where I'm at. Thank you!

That's for sure, Vera! Thank you so much! :))

Great to hear from you Rick and great prep for your life's treasures!

My mom used to say "Where there's life there's hope."

And the contrary is true- "Where there is hope, there is life":)

ABSOLUTELY!

Thank you

You, too!:)

Your Mom was a wise lady, Anne! Thank you so much! :)

Yep! :)
