I was on my way to play a gig on Central Avenue in St Pete a few years ago, about an hour's drive away.

My lady companion gave me a challenge:

"I bet you can't write a song by the time we get there," she said.

"I'll take that bet!" I said. "What's at stake?"

She just stared into my eyes and smiled. There was a full moon that night, and romance was in the air!

With me humming and singing, and her jotting down my lyrics on the back of an old envelope, we made the most of the next 60 minutes.

By the time we pulled up outside the place, the song was complete. I called it...
