Frozen Mac-No Cheese!
Last night I drifted off into dream land, with my MacBook lying on my stomach. It generates a nice warmth that seems to put me to sleep quite often.
It's never created a problem before.
But this time, for whatever reason, when I awoke, with the computer still in its' earlier position on my belly, my Mac was frozen solid!
I was getting no response whatsoever. I tried the escape button, the power button, the command button, (with f whatever)...No sign of life!
It was probably around 10 o'clock when this happened, and I did not want to leave it in that state overnight and have to deal with it in the morning.
I tried every creative thing I could think of for about 90 minutes, but got nowhere.
Finally, I left it, getting too sleepy to deal with it any more.
When I awoke this morning, I hoped it would have somehow cured itself overnight, but, alas, no such luck.
I got out my MacBook for Dummies, and began looking for help in the appropriate section.
Everything that was suggested did absolutely nothing.
I finally got down to the last tip, and that was, if all else failed, hold down the power button for 5 seconds.
Lo and behold, the computer that wouldn't even shut down previously, shut itself off!
This may be standard procedure for 99.9% of you guys, but it was something new for me.
So, if the same thing ever happens to you, and you just can't make your computer do anything, try holding that power button down for 5 seconds, and your computer should turn off.
When you turn it back on, it should be back to normal!
If I can help just a tenth of one percent that, like me, didn't know this, then my job is done.
(p.s. I asked Todd, my bass player, if he knew about this, and he did. He says it's not good for your computer, but that he has had to use it many times.)
Sweet dreams.

We're so dependent on this technology. Glad the solution was easy and I'll remember it. Thanks. Debbie
Glad your Mac is happy. I recently found out that laptops will do the same thing, the static build up has to be released. That black screen is scary.
I learned this one a long time ago! It works for all computers and devices. Thank you for shareing and have a great weekend.
