Congratulations, Ambassadors!

Congrats to Ambassadors without Blogs, without training,

I was 14 and sunny, now at 60, it's raining!

Creativity diminished, I've flatlined, it seems,

A 46 point drop, ne'er foretold in my dreams.

Must be active, must help,

And stop this free fall,

Yet, I let out a Yelp!

(I was having a ball!)

Humor's a no-no,

Poems make them pissed,

Any more creativity

And I'll fall off the list!

Nearly 800 Blogs,

But the current wisdom

Says I'm uglier than frogs...

I'm "gaming the system!"

Alas and alack,

The new Paradigm's begun,

No gaming, no shaming,

And no having fun.

Gaming the system?

Nay, twas not so...

Just providing an option

To the old status quo.

And despite being squelched,

And put in my place,

I assure you a smile

Is still on my face.

So, though it appears

We must make amends,

Shed no tears

My creative friends!

Classify me social in nature,

Give me the old heave ho,

"You can take the boy out of the country,"

(We all know how that goes!)

So, while they think they've sorted out,

Revamped and rearranged,

Don't get too comfy at the top...

Because it may soon change!

Best of luck to the new Ambassadors.

This is an update that was a long time coming. We didn't take enough into consideration when deciding on raining and people that were posting could supersede those that were actually helping others with the community.

This is not to say that your post and posts about motivation are not incredibly helpful and useful to people. That is not what we're saying. We're just saying that there are many more metrics that need to be considered when deciding on what to do rank and where to rank someone.

This includes everything from the training that they're doing, The website says they're building, The people that they're helping, The timeliness of the responses, the engagement that they are getting, and of course there're ongoing interactions within the community and whether they are impacting people in a positive or negative way.

there is no manual control in the algorithm and is entirely based on people other interactions within the position at. I just want to make that clear as well. We don't want to rank who we think Is an ambassador, we want the ambassador to rank for their attributes and what they're doing within the system.

If you have actively been helping people in a public manner on a day-to-day basis about their business with elements of their business, then you will see the results in terms of your rankings.

The post launch by Carson will indicate the metrics that are we are now considering. Have a read if you want more information on this: PS. I used dictation for this so I hope there are too many spelling and grammar mistakes!

Thanks for responding, Kyle. I'm sure you can understand that it is just disappointing to suddenly drop like that. I'm someone who likes to write, and to share what I write. It has ever been so, probably since 2nd or 3rd grade.

Here, and in life, we must be adaptable. I've been as high as a #7 Ambassador, and was recently #14 before the recent drop to #60, which happened while I was at work.

I consider myself a valuable member of the community, and people seem to enjoy my Blogs.

I guess we'll all see how adaptable we are.

Best of luck to everyone here!

Rick, you expressed my sentiments on the new rating system so much more eloquently than I could ever have. Yes, I share your frustration as I returned after some time away with my day job and saw my drop from 100 to now around 360! It is a bit frustrating but I hope you continue with your great blogs. I look forward to reading them.

All the best.

Wayne

Hi Rick, No ranking system is perfectly fair and beneficial to all. Changes are needed to meet new business directions. Why don't you hang on a little while longer and let the system iron out? I believe the clouds will soon clear and you will see the silver lining.

Members enjoy your unique literacy style and would certainly miss you if you call it quit. To me, members that rank under 300 are passionate, helpful and fantastic people in the community. You are no exception. [Kelsey]

Hi Kelsey-Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. Always appreciated.

Hi Ricky, Glad to see that you put a smile on your face again. [Kelsey]

I had a huge free fall too but although I was a bit surprised in the beginning it really doesn't change in how I conduct myself here at WA.

First, I was never interested in becoming an Ambassador unless it will happen somehow, naturally, without me actively aiming for it.

I do participate as much as I can and as my valuable time leaves room for it. Personal reasons are a huge factor right now in my life.

However, I respect Kyle's and Carson's approach to change whatever they think needs to be changed, after all, it is their business. Period!

I, on the other hand, need to do what is best for my business and if my personal responsibilities will leave me the time, this is where I will spend it.

Of course, I love the WA community and if I can I will answer questions, create a training or write a post. It has to be natural to me and it has to be timely as well, otherwise, I will be overwhelmed and this is not what I need besides all the stuff I am already dealing with.

Everyone needs to decide for themselves what is important to them, being an active part of WA is still important to me but not more important than my own business or my private life.

After all the day as only 24 hours and we all have to use it wisely.

Just my final 2 cents to this whole ranking subject. Enough said already. :)

Sylvia

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Sylvia. :)

Your poem sounds like my grandma's tone, you remind me of her.
I just got an Ambassador Badge, I'm happily encouraged.

l rank success by the problems we solved and not by an acquired asset.

The community at WA makes a positive impact in the world and you and l are that community.
We are solution providers and that is why we are successful.....

Cheers.

I'm sure your Grandma is a lovely woman, Ada. Best of luck to you. :)

Great poem about your view, Rick. I totally get it and can identify with it as well. I, too, had a huge free-fall and my head is spinning from it.
LOL

I just remind myself that I do help those I can and no computer and its analytics can decide my worth (alias my comments, trainings, blog) better than those who find value in them.

I also remind myself that being ranked at the top does mean my business is also at the top.

So, in short, it's all good and this too will pass!

Keep doing what you do, Rick, I appreciate you no matter what your 'number'.

Namaste
M

Thanks, Michelle. Let's take it a day at a time and see what happens. :)

With all respect, why do you even care about ranking on this website? What does that do to you? I don't much understand why would it upset you. Perhaps I look at things differently here because I use this website as a tool. Or a class. The way I look at it, my accomplishment is being rewarded by the results of what I learn from here. I know people here that are ranked over 5000 but they cash out big time on the concept and methods they learned here, and that's the ultimate goal we are here for, isn't it?

Once again, I mean no disrespect. I just don't really get it why it is so important to have a high rank here. I'm sure that friends you made here won't think of you any less, and I am pretty sure this rank drop does not affect your websites and income generated by them.

You make a good point, Andy. Probably the main use of it is in visibility and in recruiting. No worries, I'm just someone who stands up for myself and for others.

WOW!!! That's a powerful poem, Rick.

I definitely have mixed feelings about the changes: On one hand, I agree that people who are consistently helping others on Live Chat and answering the "unanswered" questions and such should be "rewarded". On the other hand, there seems to be a belief that many who were Ambassadors "gamed" the system, and they have now been removed.

I know the thought, time, and care I took to write each and every post. I also know that for every person I followed and welcomed, I read each and every bio. As opposed to sending a generic welcome, I wrote something different for each person I welcomed.

It's times like these that we have to already know our true worth. If I received that from a little yellow cup that I can't even hold, then something is wrong. All I have to do is read the comments from people to know that I am making a contribution and adding value to this community.

You are one of a kind, Rick. Regardless of the change in status, your contribution added tremendous value to this community and will continue to do so. Thank you for always allowing your light to shine. Please don't stop sharing your Twilight Zone-like mind with us.

Veronica

Thank you, Veronica. I appreciate your comments. You are an asset to the community, too. :)

I don't think anybody has any issue with you posting poems or humor or being creative. In fact it's one thing Kyle and Carson have always welcomed and encouraged, because they know the strength of the community.

The issue is that these kind of posts shouldn't contribute towards having a higher rank, and frankly, rightly so.

Why do you think so, Dom? Don't you think that the right motivation and helping people get in the right mood are as important as equipping them with the additional business tools?

In an ideal world yes, but the reality is that WA has become inundated with posts for post's sake and many complaints about it. K+C rarely make decisions about things without listening to members and people have been asking for it for a long time. It's also really frustrating when you take the time to type out a blog post or training that will really benefit people, and the top 10 posts feed is filled with posts about dogs and cats.

I think I should agree.:)

That's probably where we have a difference of opinion, Dom, and I think that's just what it is-a matter of opinion.

I've counseled many people against the use of "should and shouldn't." They usually prove to be problematic terms.

At any rate, I like to write what I want, and what makes me happy, although I do often take it as a creative challenge to tie things in to Wealthy Affiliate.

There are a lot of different ways to learn and to inspire.

All the best to you, my friend!

Why on earth do members obsess over being Ambassadors? It's not like you get to hand out free Ferrero Rocher or anything!! ;)

Ha, what a great advert that was

Yep! :)

Why don't you suggest that to the powers that be, Rich? I kind of like the pretzel M & M's, though. :)

No Richard, it's not obsession over being an Ambassador(at least on my part). It's a desire that a creative spirit of the community where differences and creativity are welcome be retained.I am happy that it is fully supported and promoted by K&C.
Rank doesn't mean much to me, freedom and opportunities for growth, do.To a big extent, this blogging platform is a great workshop for many of us, especially those who do not come from English-speaking countries.:)

M&Ms; are good!:)

What a day Rick. I beat them to the punch (and may have triggered a premature release) by my post about "Time for readjustment" yesterday.
Everything has been cleverly done down to potential psy ops leaving me still in the ambassador ranks 3 from the bottom as a potential spur to climb back up.
If so they didn't really read my post. I don't care if I'm 30,300,3000 or 30,000 at this point. There's more to do that I've been putting off.
I love your poetry.
The difference between the "evolved" WA and totalitarian regimes is they burned books in the public square. Here with the internet the can obliterate or hide your ideas with the push of a button. "progress"

It's all in what somebody likes, Mike, and in this case our fearless leaders are in charge of that. It's their show, after all! I've got a lot of people who seem to enjoy what and how I write, so, no worries.

You say you don't care, which is awesome, but then you compare K+C to Nazi's for making a change to the algorithm. Would hate to see what you said if you DID care.

I'm sure Mike wasn't seriously comparing anybody to Nazis, Dom. Some of us are just feeling a bit of a sting-that's all. Kyle and Carson seem like nice guys, and they've definitely built this up into a big, successful business.

The word Nazi is your introduction Don. If you have been observing the threads there have been a rash of post takedowns and elimination of views not seen as appropriate to the "appropriate views" here. I am merely looking at historical oppression of writing views whatever the rulers in charge.
The pen is indeed mightier than the sword and is often treated that way!
