A LONG WAY FROM HOME
I'm a long way...such a long way...
A long way...such a long way...
A long way from home, in a-state of confusion,
Seek reflection, and I donno why,
I feel so solitary, I could cry...
Feel so solitary, I could cry.
I'm a long way...such a long way...
A long way...such a long way...
A long way from home, contemplatin' a solution,
Need affection, baby, rock-a-bye,
I feel so solitary, I could cry...
Feel so solitary, I could cry.
I'm a long way...such a long way...
A long way...such a long way...
A long way from home, and there's-just illusion,
So low, baby, Oh, so low,
I feel so solitary, I could cry..
Feel so solitary, I could cry.
I'm a long way...such a long way...
A long way...such a long way...
I'm a long way...such a long way.
And remember, there are quite a few thousand people right here, interested in some of the same things you're interested in, and quite willing to talk, help out, or just lend a sympathetic ear.
There's no need to feel alone.

I liked your list of activities, Rick.Would do any of these if I felt lonely. But it's the state almost unfamiliar to me.I may be down, low for some time of course- I am human and stuff happens. But I usually don't abide there for a long time because there are so many interesting things to do, and mainly- there are so many things to remember and laugh at. Laughter is universal means.
A sad song. Sad and beautiful, as always.:)
O.K., Cos, so now you've become metaphysical in your Blogs...good...I like it...borders on the existential...
Thanks for sharing Rick. Being alone is not always a pleasant past time but there are times when one needs to be alone to reflect. I grew up on a farm and learnt from and early age how to entertain myself with very little to do it with. Your above list covers a wide range of activities that can put it all into perspective and before you know it the depression is gone and creativity kicks in.
Yes, I'm sure many people out there in the world are in the same boat just waiting to meet up with someone to talk to.
Good posting on a very interesting subject Rick.
Take care.
Johan.
Thanks, Johan. I, too, spent a fair amount of time by myself as a kid, and that is great for developing creativity!
Really great post, Rick, a lot of people find being alone difficult, and that last paragraph will be priceless to anyone who is feeling a little lonely. I thoroughly enjoy my alone time, but not so much I don't welcome other people into my space. We are never truly alone, just as we are always alone, bit of an oxymoron, but that's God for you:-))Steph
