I am following the 2017 website building and I got my footer in, but I can't figure out how to get rid of the "copyright" of wordpress. Please help - thanks
Hey Cathy,
Like Mel (aka onmyownterms) said, depends on the theme you've used. However, this post with video may help you: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-remove-the-powered-by-wordpress-footer-links/
The second step covered in the video, if you choose that method, be sure you install a child theme FIRST One-Child Child Theme by tychay ...and then upload a copy of your theme's footer.php to your child theme folder and do the changes there. In this way, when you theme is updated, your change will NOT be over written.
Hope this helps.
With some themes, you can't change the footer. But, try going to appearance then customize then look for footer or possibly site identification. The ability to change the footer will be in one of those two places.
Thanks - I tried what you suggested & it wasn't there to be changed. I went in and inspected the "element" and initially it did go away, but I guess I really don't know how to save those "elements" and when I refreshed it was back the way I started. LOL

Sometimes you need to search the whole editor for where the heck they have placed that words. And when you've found it, you do need to keep all brackets in place, just change the words

Cookies - How to install and see results? I noticed in the example Privacy Policy that my site doesn't do cookies. Why/Why not? Wouldn't that improve my likelihood of them easi
You don't need to do anything with cookies at your end.
WA takes care of it automatically. Amazon and other affiliate programs do the same.
A cookie with your ID will be dropped on your visitor's computer to keep track of whether they sign up or make a purchase through your affiliate link. ~Jude
As you build and grow your site, you will start to build traffic from your target audience finding the posts you write.
As you go through the training you'll learn how to use low competition keywords to create what starts as a trickle of traffic into a stream and then into a full blown river.
Don't worry about cookies at all. Kyle has set us all up for success and the only way this community continues to thrive is by all of our collective success, right?
Keep with the training and take everything step by step. I hope this helped :)

Trying to figure out which theme would "run" the best if I have an interactive map, optin page and comparison chart/cart. I want to figure it out before I get too much info on
Unless someone comes along and recommends one that he or she is using, I suggest doing a google search for 'themes with interactive maps'.
All WP themes can handle optin pages and comparison charts.
You don't have to use blogs. You can use static pages. You can add a blogroll to WordPress at any time should you change your mind.
I'll just mention that for ranking, search engines generally prefer posts to pages because blogrolls are dynamic and signal the search bots to crawl the site, whereas pages tend to be static.
~Jude
Just remember that consistent new content is what keeps your page relevant and ranked. Whether you keep your blog roll (your new posts) as the main page or use a static page as the main page and keep your blog roll elsewhere, you'll definitely want to keep it updated and relevant with new content.
Always be creating. That's all your blog roll is. New content to keep your readers happy with your site :)
Best of luck to you!
Sometimes people think of blogs as just a personal diary, but when you're building a website, the blog roll is simply your posts that you're publishing. I'm sure you have plans to publish posts to your site, right? If so, then you definitely have plans to keep a steady blog roll!
Consistent content creation is key to keeping users interested.
Try out different themes and see which one suits you the best. You can always change your theme down the road. Mine is 100% different than what I started with. So don't be afraid to try any out.
