A count-up plugin? You mean a plugin that will count up to a certain number or time?
Just run a search for "timer" plugin or something & then check the plugin reviews to see what peopel say about it :)
Does anyone know of a good count-up plugin?

In case you missed Barb's blog today: Where do I find the banners for black friday wa sale 2017? she has shared the location.
Hope this helps you.
What is Black Friday referred to? Is it for something on sale or stock crash? I just want to learn. Please elaborate it; thank you.
James,

If you login to your website and are in the process of updating a page or post, what does a user see if these visit your website at the same time? Do they see the page with you
The fact that visitors can only see what's been published is the reason that you don't need an "Under Construction" plugin or page while you're performing edits on your pages. (Until you've published the updated page, there is no possibility that a visitor will see it.)
Thanks Elroy, I figured if I was thinking about it, someone else must have been thinking about it as well.
Until you publish the page, visitors will see the most recently published version of the page that you're working on. The wordpress database (which contains the content they see) will not get updated until you hit the "Publish" button for that page.
Thanks Bob!
If my page was already published, let's say last week, and I updated it yesterday, would the visitor see my page while I'm still updating it with the login information at the top right hand side?
Thanks again.
Shawn

Sorry, I may have misunderstood -- If you updated the page yesterday and published that version, that will be the current version and any changes you made last week will have been replaced with yesterday's version.
-----------------------------
Your visitors will see the 'old' page (the most recently published version) whether or not you're logged in until you publish the new version.
Pages are always rendered from the published content as it's stored in the wordpress database. Editing and saving drafts don't impact that older version of a page. When you hit the "Publish" button, the database will be updated to the new version and any later visitors to the page will see your new, updated version. (As far as I can tell, a visitor who happens to be on a page while you update it will only see the change if they perform a browser refresh. I'm not 100% sure on that though.)
Thanks again Bob! That makes sense. On other applications I've worked on, we had a maintenance page that would be displayed if we were doing an application update, so I wasn't sure if wordpress did something similar.
Regards,
Shawn
Your visitors deal with the 'front end' of wordpress while you're working in the 'back end'. The two sides actually operate independently of each other.
An application update is a bit different in that user actions, if performed during the update process, would affect transactions in the application's database. Using an application while it's having an update implemented could throw everything into chaos. Since the wordpress database is read-only for your users, your visitors don't need to be locked out while you're doing updates. That 'disconnect' between the user side and the developer side just isn't there for (many/most?) applications.

I'm trying to determine if I should use a text link or an image link on my website and which one would be better from a ranking perspective. The text link would have keywords w
Hi Shawn. It is not the best practice to use the keyword in several places in image attributes. So do not use it both in the title and in alt text.
But I do not understand what you are saying about aesthetically pleasing image link. The link in an image is not physically visible, so how you are using it? An image can be clickable, but this can be overlooked. So text image is more obvious.
All what I know is that you have statistics about clicked links, but this is not ranking. So do not understand how some claim it is better for ranking. Where you can see this?
Thanks Jovo, I appreciate your feedback! I realize that images are clickable and that the link is not visible. Perhaps a poor choice of words on my part. I agree, unless the cursor scrolls over the image, it may get overlooked and not clicked at all. As a result, I'm going to change all my posts back to using text links.
I use call to action buttons a lot, 'check the price' or 'buy from Amazon', I make them myself. Not sure how effective they are.
To get someone to sign up their email or get an offer I always use an image with sign up but use text links in the body of the blog to redirect them to other information or offers.
I need to agree with everyone here; I use text links and I use image links. The image ones are nicer looking and serve two purposes, but I am getting more clicks from the tet ones.
Would it not depend on the content of the post, yes stats dictate that text rank better, but so think it varies from post to post. So the decision would ultimately be up to you Shawn
I wonder where you see that text link ranks better? You can speak about click statistics but this is a different thing.
They do indeed. I'm drawn to them in making webpages, but I always read text links. Its an opportunity to reinforce info they've already seen. Imo

I've been trying to log into my websites this afternoon and haven't had any luck. Is anyone else having trouble logging in?
I was having that same issue yesterday, and have had it a couple other times during my 3 years with WA. I think it is a glitch that sometimes occurs. First, check if you can reach it using different browser(s). And of course WA Help is awesome, so a help ticket (or even live chat) will get the problem fixed if it doesn't go away "by itself" - which it has magically done for me in the past, after a few hours.
Thanks Marvin! It's my experience that whenever something like that happens, it's usually because they are running an update or something along those lines. Thankfully, I can access my sites now so it appears it was something temporary.
Hi Shawn, I've learned the best way to find out is to go straight on to Live Chat - I hardly use this feature but I get to know the current status there right away. And thanks to Carson :-)
Yes, some folks are having this issue and we're well aware of the issue - should be a few minutes until it's fixed. We likely broke something while releasing some updates to the platform...thanks for your patience while we sort it out.
Great to hear that. I've sent two messages to the Site Support team thinking probably it was an isolated case. Thanks Carson for the immediate reply.
