Please can someone let me know what the different columns on the results page for the keyword tool relate to.

On the competition column, when we click on the view result, what exactly this means?
“Page 2 of about 190 results (0.30 seconds)”

Please..

The number of results (in this case 190) is the QSR of the keyword.

The QSR is the number of web pages indexed by Google that have that exact keyword string. For a newer website shoot for below 100QSR, preferably below 50.

Thanks ninja for your help.

Oh I see, so that means 190 result is way too much for my new website? Glad you said that.

Typically yes, that would be a hard keyword for a new site to rank for.

Glad I could help. Good luck.

Thank you so much Ninja for your help, now I understand. I should get it change now. Thanks again.

Hi,

The WA keyword tool is great to have in your toolbox. I will explain the columns so you can understand what the results mean. Here goes:
1. Keyword - Your keyword or phrase will be listed first. Also, you get additional related keywords to your original one entered. This is helpful when you are trying to find a domain or other topics to your existing website you can write about.
2. Traffic - This is the average amount of traffic you can expect to visit your page or blog post when it's on the first page of Google at the no. 1 position.
3. Competition - When you click on view results it shows you the number of competing websites against you with the same exact name as the keyword typed. The lower the number the better you can rank for that keyword or phrase.
4. Article Power - This represents the article power of the keyword or phrase entered. The higher the number the better chance you have in ranking in the search engines with at keyword
5. PCC Power - This represents Pay Per Click power for Adwords. I do not use this.
6. Dig - This is a helpful tool in that when you click on it you are given some related keywords to your keyword or keyword phrase entered. Very helpful.

I hope you will find this helpful.

I wish you all the best as a member at WA!

George

Thank you very much George. Could you let me know what the searches column relates to?

Colrain,

I am sorry about that, The Searches column shows the average number of searches being made for one month on the keyword or phrase entered in the WA keyword tool.

Good Luck!

Thank you very much for all the help. All the best, James

George, what about the Traffic column, is that number also for 1 month too, like the Searches column?

thanks so much for you help,
Jason

Traffic is the amount of traffic you could expect in one month if you were ranked on the first page for that keyword

Thanks George. This was helpful.
