I have 4 pages/posts that (according to GWT) are not indexed. I have done "Fetch as Google" nearly every day on each of them.... and nothing.

Normally I will fetch a fe

I think you would include it in sitemap for crawling.

Tough as it is this appears to be a wait and see situation!

We are in the same boat my friend.

Same problem here..

Well, hope this situation will be resolved by Google fast.

Me too, Eric.

Jen,
Google had the same issue a few weeks ago. Many people including myself went to the site's "help" section although to be honest, it was a waste of time. Some of the Google "admin" staff realized there was a problem and only asked people to be patient.

They did fix it by the next day. However, it seems as in several cases, (studing some previous comments) that the situation has reared its ugly head again!

I had no issues adding an article to my site today and doing the fetch as google task. The problem might effect others though, (which again would make no sense).

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your reply. Not good news. :( I will continue to fetch and see what happens... hoping we find out something solid soon.

Also I know that the companies are changing faster than we can keep up. A lot are dropping plug ins. So, WA needs to catch up. I think.

So a plug-in can essentially stop/hinder indexing?

I just wrote a blog on Success? part two on here. It explains a little bit. But, you can find the answers on an article I read on how the whole industry is changing. But, I am sure WA knows about these things. I am hanging back a bit to see what happens.

hmm... yikes. I will check it out. Thank you

Having the same problem. You ask site support and so will I.
Andrea

Sounds good Andrea, sorry it is also happening to you.

Email Marketing
Updated

I have my website email forwarding to my personal gmail account but I have been having problems receiving emails. Either I get them extremely delayed, or sometimes not at all.

This seems to be a fairly common issue. I myself had a lot of trouble when I first set up a forward to my Gmail. I wouldn't receive certain emails at all.

I tested the forward by sending something from another of my own emails and it worked fine. My biggest problem was with receiving a confirmation email from Gravatar.

For me, though, it was eventually worked out by site support, so hopefully they will sort things out for you as well.

Hi Craig,
Thanks for replying. I remember having an issue with my Gravatar account as well! That took forever.

I've tested it with my husband's email and I only get maybe 1 out of every 2-3 that he sends. Also, the one that I do get I don't get until 30 minutes to an hour later.

I have decided to stop the forward, I've contacted SiteSupport probably at least 5 times on the issue over the past 3 months and I'm pretty sure my patience has worn out on the whole thing, lol... and seeing how this seem to be common with others as well.

Thanks for your help!
Jen

Hey girl!

Yes, I had issues exactly like you mentioned. I just stopped the forward and use the regular inbox because I didn't want to miss important e-mails. I use a calendar so I just put a note there to remind me to check the extra e-mail inbox.

Hope this helps,
Marlinda

Hi Marlinda!
Thank you very much for your reply. I think this is what I am going to do. As this has been ongoing, I have only given some thought to removing the forward... but I agree with you and I think I am going to just go ahead and do it. I'm simply not willing to risk missing out on any more than I may potentially already have.

Did you have any emails waiting for your when you stopped the forward? Or do all of those get lost in cyberspace? :(
~Jen

Unfortunately it starts new when you create the new inbox. If you had previously used the regular e-mail before the forward was made the previous e-mails may still be there but none after the forward was created.

Aw, okay...that does make sense. Thank you so much for the help :)

Anyone know how to do this, or if there is some sort of (CSS) code involved?

Right now I have a premium theme and there is no option... what I would really like is, as t

Jen,

I have wondered about premium themes. What is the average cost and has it made a significant difference in your website development?

Hi Steve,
I have found them on average anywhere from $50-70 for a yearly subscription. Mine in particular was $49.99. After the year runs out, you still have use and access to the theme, you just no longer have access to updates.

Updates are a little more tricky, as WP does not notify you of them automatically. I have to be sure to sign on and check for updates manually, and if there is, download the zip file, and upload it as I did with the original theme in my WP dashboard.

There are plug-ins that are said to help with this, but as I want to use as few plug-ins as possible to save space and help with site speed I have decided to not go that route.

I believe the upgrade has helped me tremendously, but being that all themes are different, it may not be as beneficial for everyone. For me, I'm quite picky, and wanted to change quite a few things that I no longer could look to custom CSS to provide.

I purchased my theme through CSSIgniter, and they allow you to view a preview of premium themes (it is an example however, not with your content like it normally does under customization settings), you might find that helpful when browsing through themes, and determining if you feel the upgrade would be worth it. Hope this helps.

~Jen

Thank you for your thoughtful response. That helps. Have a good evening.

You are welcome!

I was hoping to get a code in particular, but thanks!

I've been SEO optimizing like crazy (or at least attempting to) after the many, many things I have learned in recent weeks that I have not been doing.

MAKING MY

Good morning Jen. One point I totally agree with you is making title attracting to your viewers. You have six seconds to grab a visitors attention and a catchy title will do this. HOWEVER, changing your title any will create major issues with SE, 404 errors, etc.
I would suggest leave your previous content titles alone but any new content to start using more attention-getting titles.
Good question.
Ken

Hi Ken,
Wouldn't it only create issues with 404 errors if I changed the permalink (which I am not doing)?
~Jen

Correct me if I am wrong, but the way I understand is that your post is indexed "AS IS" which means if your title was "The best way To Save Money", and then you decided later to make it more catchy, like "Nothing Better Than Saving a Chunk of Change" Google will not correlate that it is the same post and give you all kinds of mean, nasty, ugly errors.
A better technique would be to right after the title, insert your catchy, attention getting headline in H1 along with your keyword.
This would be the way I would make my older post better, this per Jay's Friday night Video a couple of weeks ago.
Ken

Thanks Ken for your insight. You may be correct, I did not see the webinar, my understanding was the opposite, but then again my site is less than 3 months old, and still in the beginning stages with my rankings. I have very far to go personally, but maybe what you mentioned is true for those with better Google trust and rankings as is, for me.. I am still climbing my way up, I figure that I'm already not doing well, what could a change do other than help me, if I'm not getting hits anyway? Also, I do think a fetch & render will help smooth things along when any changes are made of this nature, at least from what I have read on the matter, and I do so accordingly.
Thanks so much for your comments. I will consider what you said moving forward :)
~Jen

Good luck to you Jen, I am staying positive and will wait to hear of your results.
Ken

Thank you kindly, Ken! Best wishes to you as well.

Hey, Jen, Read this blog post by Neil Patel,
http://neilpatel.com/blog/boost-your-domain-authority
He gives you some really good info on how to get your site ranking higher. I checked my site (I have two) one of them was a 7 DA (which is very bad) and the second one had a 12 DA (Which is also bad, but better than the 7)LOL.
Ken

Thanks for sharing that with me, lots of great info! I am going to check my site as well. Thanks so much!

I feel as if this answer is right under my nose, but this is about my email subscribers. Currently, I am using SumoMe for email collection but do not yet have a subscription s

I just found a plugin for email and social icons that let you have them in the sidebar plus a pop at the bottom of the page where they can sign up for emails.
Plugin is Ultimate Social Media Icons. Not sure if this help your situation, but it worth a look see.
Kelly

Hi Kelly,
Thanks! I will also check that out as well. :)

~Jen

I don't know about SumoMe, but maybe they have a form you can add to your sidebar?
I am using MadMimi at the moment and just added a sign-up form to my sidebar.

That way they can join your list whenever they want.

Moritz

Hi Moritz,
My theme actually has this as a widget (a place for subscribers to sign up), however it asks for a mail subscription service URL.

I have not heard of MadMimi, I will look into that, thank you.
