I just bought a domain name (after doing Jaaxy research ) and then decided to buy both the .co.uk and the .com variations.

Which one do I chose to build my site around

Just another update to this....I now recall that I tried to get my payroll domain as a dot com but some huge payroll company in the US already owned it.....so probably at the time I did think that dot com was better - even with a UK customer base.....although now I am used to the co uk and all my clients use it quite happily....

Is the site only of interest to UK residents? Generally the best way to go is with a dot com site because that is most likely to be remembered by people who have visited your site.
However - I do have a co uk site for my payroll business as I only deal with UK based payrolls.
So I guess in that case a co uk was a better choice for me.

Domain choice com or .uk which to use?

I notice quite a few established high ranking WA members not showing any websites in their profile .. even though they have been here ages. Should I or should I not list sites

It's up to you if you want to show them or not. Some don't like to show them for fear of people trying to copy their content and also, to keep their personal business private. Many of our more experienced members also have multiple sites.
Personally, I like it when the newer members post their sites because sometimes it's easier to help them and answer their questions if we can see their site

Thanks Forrest - a bit of internet SEO paranoia going on lol

It's not paranoia. Sad to say but even in this wonderful community, there have been numerous cases of content theft :(

Hi,

I would not look to somebody else, when I check a profile it is something I always check: their website(s).
And sometimes I give some feedback about them...

So that means traffic and feedback, just because you put your sites there...

But indeed, I would also like to see some people their sites and it is not filled in... :-(

Grtz,
Bert
