Progression not Perfection! That's all I hear!

Have you ever seen a film with Denzel Washington called " The Equalizer"? Great film on how an ex intelligence officer reeks retribution on the Russian mafia! Great movie!

But in the movie, he makes a comment while encouraging a young girl who wants to make a break from prostitution to singing as a career.

I think its important for us to remember that even when we are in situations that we just cant seem to find a way out from, that situation does not define who we are. This intelligence officer recognised that in this girl, and although she was not encouraging herself in what she could be, she was trying. She had a demo CD.

Denzel says "Progress not Perfection"!

I keep hearing this term, this phrase, all over the place. I might even have heard it here at WA.

Progression not Perfection.

And that's really what we want to strive for. Making the progress forward, and not waiting until all our ducks are lined up before we launch that site, or create that video!

Progression not perfection.

Lets move forward, stumbling if we have to, but at least we are moving. The progress gets us nearer our goal. The perfection keeps us procrastinating! Ouch!

It doesn't matter how bad things are. Have a vision of what is possible, and then take the first step ( I'm writing this for me as much as one else!). Taking the first step gives us hope, gives us that notion that it really is possible.

Progression not Perfection!

Peace to you.....

Colin

Keep up the good work buddy

Great Colin.

Good thought. I remember a line from the old Clint Eastwood movie, "The Outlaw Josie Wales." The old native American said he had been told to "endeavor to persevere." We used to say, "Keep on Keepin on."

good point

Hi Colin, super post. Irv.

This is an excellent point, Colin. Thanks for sharing. Because we need to be moving forward and waiting to be perfect slows the forward momentum down.

Too Right Glen!
Cheers

I struggle with being a perfectionist, so this was a good article for me to read. Thanks for sharing with us!
