COVID-19: How Are You Handling The Effects?
Crazy is an understatement in describing the last couple of weeks or months and the unfolding events taking place all over the globe. Depending on where you are, the effects of this virus may have altered your daily activities at a different time from others.
I live in Ghana, West Africa and it was only until last week, before we recorded both of our first confirmed cases of COVID-19 (two foreign nationals who had flown into the country tested positive).
Before both cases were announced, the country was very much like it always is; workers went to work, students had school and the typical boisterous nature of the capital city was taking place as it usually does. [see cover image].
Fast forward a week later and 4 additional new cases, we now have a total confirmation of 6 cases in the country.
Desperate times indeed!
Our president has now placed a ban on all public gatherings exceeding 25 people at a time. Schools are closed until further notice. All religious activities have equally been suspended for the next month. Its unbelievable to imagine that only a week ago, our world was so different to what we are experiencing today.
The effects of these sudden changes are affecting everything. From education to entertainment, transportation, the economy and every aspect of our social existence. These are trying times for everyone. But we must continue to pesevere. Eventually this too shall pass!
But until then, let us all try and observe all the safety protocols put in place by the authorities. This is not the time to lose our heads. We can still take advantage of these times, as dire as it seems, to rebuild connections with people. We may be distanced physically but we can still connect on other levels of socialization. Try and check up on your friends. Call family members on the phone. Get interested in the lives of your children. The ability to see the silver lining in a very dark cloud depends entirely on you.
So let us chin up because we will prevail!!!

Let us all look unto God, the beginner and the finisher our faith. He is the creator of the universe and He has control of everything. Nothing is impossible to Him. Wisely, let's take His counsel and the government's counsel then guard ourselves to fight this epidemic disease.
I couldn't agree more. Sometimes these times humble us to remember who we truly are. It's funny how the rich and poor, weak and powerful, old and young, etc, are all equal in the eyes of this epidemic. Truly humbling...
Trying to ignore the United States doom and gloom media! They have fueled a US economic crash.
The media plays the most vital role in all of this. Almost all reports seem to be on the negatives. What people need right now is hope. I understand your frustrations Howard. Ignore them if you must. But remember to be a beacon of hope to those close to you. We can all be the change we hope to see. Stay safe brother 🙏

I live in South Africa the cases of this epidemic was 116 as of yesterday that includes a 3 and a five year old. lt was a different world yesterday than it is today and it will change tomorrow if you know what I mean. This will pass we just need to keep our Faith and stay calm!
South Africa is one of the hardest hit on the continent. I can only imagine what you must be going through. Tragedies are hard but its unbearable when it involves children. Our prayers are with you. We shall continue to keep the faith. Please stay safe
It is not as bad as it sounds though ,only 6 people are critical the rest are fine they will be released back to the community soon.
