weak Signal or Plugin?

I am happy to be able to resume working at night on my Online business; I am happy to have electricity after a period of 3 months. I am happy that my Internet server has offered a -hot spot Data service.

I don’t wish to sound ungrateful, but frustration is the order of the day. The signal is so weak that it can take from 1 to 2 minutes to perform a function on the website, whether it be updating or downloading an image.

Some times functions or applications will log out because of the slowness.

My main frustration is determining whether the slowness is solely the weak signal or a plugin.

To answer this question I have to return to my friend’s office between 9 am and 4 pm where the signal though weak is far stronger than the signal I am experiencing at home.

Technology is not my forte, but I thought using the Internet between midnight and five am would improve the service, because of decrease in traffic unless other people are of like mind.

I would be asking your service provider what is happening.

Sounds like they are still working on the lines slowly.

The servers are not showing the same energy as the electricity company, The rental of wireless modems and hot spot data service is very lucrative for them plus you had to sign a 6 month contract; people are crying foul.

Sounds like it is all over the world. Here in Sydney up until a month ago, my internet was dropping out on average 1 week out of a month. 1 day here 2 days there then 2 days the following week. They tried to blame it on my internal connection and I would have to pay for someone to come out and fix it. I told them I knew more about Telco than they do and when my contract is up they can jam their business you know where.

Funny how I haven't had any disruptions for about 6 weeks now.

Hi Courtney.
I am very sorry to hear about the poor signal. There's not much that can be done about that apart from getting closer to the source, or your provider installing a few more repeaters to boost the signal there.

Try moving your laptop to the area of your home where you get the strongest signal.

I hope it all works out soon for you.

I was once told by the providers that they were not prepared for the development in the area where we live; therefore the traffic is more than they had catred for. Government built a highway that opened up a large area of land for development.

I am sure they will now have to look at infrastructure when the dust settles.
All the best!

Welcome to IT Courtney. One of the first things in a hardware helpdesk is trouble shooting!

We have always had problems but we are paying dearly for this issue ; the servers are making more money now than from their regular service; Anguilla has a decreasing population of about 14000 inhabitants . it can't be easy for two servers to offer high quality service and be profitable; but we need the competition because the introduction of the second server reduced the cost to customers by almost 50 %
