Have you ever stopped to consider Site Content as a tool for learning?

Aside from spelling which can de overlooked because of our typos; The Lessons on grammar are numerous. When you see the notification - statistics say ------- is the correct word; what action do you take, do you just copy the correction or do you research why, to make sure you do not make the same mistake again.

A week ago I became aware of a gap in my education on the use of A and AN, my Teachers never mentioned anything about Sound.

Recently I was confronted with a correction on the use of THERE and THEIR.

Ii is common to make a mistake with the two homophones; but I always thought the rule was very clear.

There does not show possession; it can be a noun, a pronoun, an adverb, or an adjective.

My primary school education taught me that -Their- always show possession and is usually followed by a noun.

Last week in an article written using Site Content, where I used the word Their, I was puzzled by a correction --statistics say -There- is the correct word.

I did some research to see if there was another gap in my education; after all I left the education field in 1967.

Grammar.your dictionary almost confirmed my assumption, except it reads 'Their is almost always followed by a noun. It went on to state "The word their is a plural adjective. which describe something that belongs to "them. A noun typically follows the word their.,which other than serving as an adjective, has no other known usages in the English Language.

Why did I see a correction in site content of the use of Their when I clearly thought I was using it correctly. Incidentally I ignored the correction.

Why did grammar.your dictionary used the words-"almost always"

Is there an exception to the rule?

Was Site Content correct?

I noticed the correction of “there” and “their” was actually incorrect. I started changing them and then I questioned the advice and stopped.

Their is used when you possess something.

So you are totally correct to seek other grammatically correct advice before changing your content. :)

Site content needs some refinement but I like using it!

May be the new platform will bring about improvements!

Yes, any new system needs fine tuning, when we discover something that needs attention is there an avenue for sounding an alert?

I’m sure these guys would have thought of such things! It would be logical to!

I you have a doubt and you have MS Word copy and paste into Word it has a much better grammar checker.

Better than site contdnt?

yes much better for grammar

Yes I use the Word checker. Better.

Interesting! Here many of us get confused. English is not my native language but I have learned it years to know at least something.
"There" and "their"are two pronouns I have understood. "There" is related to the places and "their" with the people but in the course of writing, we sometimes use one for the other and neglect how big mistake it is. I don't mean to teach since I don't feel comfortable but this is how I have learned.
Regarding using all these tools I feel myself a baby in the process.

There is another one also where we get messed up - THESE & THIS.

Even the best writers get confused also.Thank for sharing.Another complication is non USA and UK citizens have to choose which English th use.

Wonderful tool. Today I wrote a post using the SiteContent tool and it was really amazing

It really is.I still have to experiment with images and placement.
