Is There a Lesson to be Learnt?
After hurricane Irma devastated my beautiful little Island and destroyed all the communication towers of our local servers; the leading company started to offer Hotspot Data plans on a monthly basis.
The second Company followed suite; but some people started to shop around and some just could not keep up the payments for various reasons.
It became a serious problem for the servers administering the situation; as a result all new customers had to sign a contract to keep the plan for a minimum of 6 months.
I have always felt that a yearly membership has stopped many of us from making impulsive decisions, and led us to seek solutions.
Perhaps there is a lesson to be learnt from our local situation.
I hope I am not treading on toes but there are some very sad stories being told.

I worked for Northrop Grumman in 2005 and the same thing happened to our servers at Pascagoula and New Orleans during Katrina Courtney!
Do you think it is a good idea to offer service for a minimum set time?
I'm sure they had scaled down operations!
