Hardly a day passes without a news headline about corruption in high positions around the world.

What motivates corruption? In most cases the bottom line seems to be money.

Can you therefore conclude that the greed for Money is a disease?

How big a disease is the greed for money?

Is it one of the world’s most unrecognized diseases?

Who is researching a cure for this disease?

The disease is so big that high profile, respected and well-educated people cannot resist the temptation to be corrupt.

Are there other forms of global corruption that are not yet recognized?

Does the punishments fit the crime?

`What is the biggest consequence of global corruption?

Could it be global poverty?

Indeed it is. What motivates people to do it? I believe it has everything to do with greed; greed for money, for power, position, and the like.

It is Global, it is Common, it is a disease. Wrong people are getting high positions; the choices are made because of political, personal, or other unacceptable reasons. The qualified professionals are left aside because they don't fit according to above mentioned criteria.

Maybe so but I think the problem is far deeper. many of the corrupt are highly corrupt; the corruption you are speaking of is of a different sort in my opinion but we cannot get into that on this platform.Thank you for your contribution to the discussion.

Have no doubt, there is no Country that has the monopoly on this. It is universal and rife, from the top politicians, down. It is also prevalent throughout the private sector.

I believe in Name & Shame. Not sure if it helps much though? There seems to be total disregard for ethics everywhere.

There is a culture of silence that surrounds money, even the banks refuses to prosecute staff for theft; they claim it is to prevent customers from losing confidence in the estalishments. On the contrary I would feel more confident if they were brought to justice. Name & Shame is not enough if the spoils are still accessible. We see the names but not the shame.

Well, in our government circles there appears to be no shame!!!

Well, sir, you have certainly posed a number of questions around your theme of corruption. First of all, I would certainly agree that corruption is a global phenomenon. No one country, race or gender has a monopoly on this disease and I would agree that greed for money is a big part of it. "Man's" ego seems to always drive the need for money, wealth and position as a means of achievement and self-worth. The disparity between the haves and have-nots in the world continues to grow with the super elite today owning the majority of the world's wealth.

A great post and warrants much more discussion.

Thanks for posing the questions.

Thanks Wayne for your contribution. Do you think the process that allows the disparity is infact a form of corruption, though perfectly legal.

I certainly do.

Hi Codevonish,
hahaha, a lot of questions put together. All these questions have been on my mind too. I continue to wonder where the whole world is going. This is not only the adults nowadays it is even worst amongst the young.
There was a time I had it in mind that I should go to my place and educate the youth concerning this issue of corruption and to find out from them why the whole hassle but then where will I start. All these bores down to what the Bible said about the end of time. In this, I mean when evil will fill the earth that God would like to destroy it.Only those who believe in Him would be saved just as the time of NOAH where only his family and the animals he put in the Canoe were saved.
The only suggestion I have now is for people to run to God for safety.
Thanks for your Questions

Many are thinking, but how many is doing? what will the 99 % do with all that money; I admire the few who are making a difference. but I wish the good could be shared along the way rather than after the fact.
