How To Manage 4 Jobs and Still Be Happy

I don’t know how many times I have written the words –“Time is of the essence”

There is so much to learn and so much activity going on at WA that one will need the 24 hours in a day to cope.

At present I have four jobs that I am trying to manage, but not without some challenges.

I am an Artist with my own gallery, that is three jobs. Woodcarving is one job with its own studio space at home.

Ceramics is the second job with its own studio space at home also.

I am the CEO of an Art Gallery and the only employee at present; the gallery has it own space fifteen minutes away from home.

The fourth job is managing four websites and communicating with and helping this wonderful WA community.

My average working hours are 15 hours a day and sometimes more.

The gallery is currently open from 9am to 1 pm due to the repercussions of Hurricane; The first four star hotel opened its doors today Feb. 16th.There are not many tourists on the Island and 99 more like 99.5% of my business is with Tourists.

Luckily I have 2 computers and my cell phone for use; one computer is for the playing youtube classical music or Jazz during opening hours; the other computer for writing and the cell phone for research when there is no one in the gallery.

Home is only 15 minutes, so after closing hours at the gallery, I drive straight home have some lunch and is in one of the two work studios till 5.30 or 6 pm depending on the light.

After work in the studio I entertain a snack and probably a cup of ginger tea; grumble a little at wifey and then back to the computer until the eyes whisper “enough is enough”. I might have the radio on in the background listening to the news or local talk shows.

At 11pm I change the radio station to BBC and it remains on all night until 5.30am;most of what I hear on BBC is between sleep and wake.

Wifey thinks I am a hermit; and sometimes tries to take the computer away;;I disagree with her, I just love my own company.

My exercise time is walking up and down the house for about 20 to 30 minutes, each lap is about 100 steps; I try to spend a little time at the beach, normally on Sunday afternoons; or if the weather is exceptionally good I will squeeze an hour in during the afternoon.

My social life consists of meeting a few friends at a boutique hotel bar almost every Friday night from 8pm until 11pm.

I am very happy doing what I am doing, just need to be better paid, LOL.

The conversation is not relaxing, usually heavy political talk; and that is more than enough social activity for a week.

What is your daily routine?

Your daily/weekly routine sounds lovely!

Courtney, I think you and I would be most compatible..
I still have tons of WA emails to go through so I won't bore you with the "tick-tock", as the news channels are calling a timeline.
Suffice to say that I always get the "still on it" look from my better half, as well. My eyes get to that "NO, NO, NO MORE SCREEN READING" point each night as well (getting close now, after 5 WA hours today)
I'm exceedingly glad to hear about the first of the hotels.... That sounds like a significant corner turned.
Thanks, as ever, for your musings...
Tim

Yes we are happy One of the major hotels is opened, buy yesterday I heard some disturbing news on 4 other major properties, plus we are rushing a labor code at a very bad time for the business community.
I have problems seeing the screen 3 o'clock in the morning while keeping the lights off so the wife won't be disturbed.I think it's becoming a good addiction.
Best wishes.

Enjoyed this much, Courtney. Very informative and entertaining... "Grumble a little at wifey" lol.
Sounds like a great way to live overall except for the "better paid" part. I do trust that the tourists will begin to come in droves once more ASAP.

All the best!
David

Thanks David; some of the repeat guests love this little rock and are trickling in. The snow birds (homeowners who spend 6 months) are here and bringing their friends; The 4 star hotel news is not so good. This week was a blessing; the wind and the rain kept visitors away from the beaches.Enjoy the rest of the day.

Thanks for sharing.
The good thing about your jobs is they allow you to break the monotony that comes with doing the same job for a long period.

I also like the idea of your home being a couple of minutes away. Its a blessing in disgiuise. At least you get to escape traffic congestion at peak hours.
All the best with the tourist side of things.

Traffic at peak hours! Lol, If I see 12 vehicles in a row it is our traffic jam, even though each home may have a vehicle because there is no public transportation.the population is less than 14000. .The best part i get to do what and when. Thanks for engaging. Have a great day.

My daily routine is up at 4:20 am to step on the treadmill. Prepare my son for school. At work by 7:30 am. Leave work at 4pm. Attend to my son's after school and sports activities 2x a week. Dinner. Dishes. Then WA till 11:00 pm.
I hope you can share your works of art :-)

Bravo for your devotion to your son,Is you son engaging in wa? You can see my art work , my website is listed under profile. loo for devonishart. Thanks for showing an interest,Blessings,

Our son is only 10 years old but Believe it or not, he was the one who got us into affiliate marketing. He saw a YouTube video, got so interested but knew he can’t do it at his age. So he forced us to watch the video. If he wasn’t too persuasive we wouldn’t be here. Funny how things work. More power to you!

You are one busy multi tasking person. I want to thank you for the time you have put in here to help me and I am sure many others. You are appreciated.

Thank you, I am always willing to help in my limited capacity, i knew nothing when i joined wa and received lots of help from many members; so I am happy to be paying it forward.Best wishes,by the way I am now following you.

Well I am thankful for all that you do
