I am not comfortable with the size of images uploaded from my computer, even when croped, they still appear too large.

Is there a formula for reducing the size to ones satisfaction?

I'm contented with the EWWW Image Optimizer.

Does it give you a standard size?

So far I didn't encounter any issue in uploading my images.

Photoscape is what I use most of the time.
Go to editor and click.
You can resize, sharpen, crop, brighten the colour, and I write on them as well.
Tom.

Thank you, have never used that.

For my images going on the web, I save as a level 10 jpg. I crop at 8x10 inches 72 resolution first. Usually, I enhance them in Photoshop by adjusting the levels some and maybe upping the contrast a little then crop at 8x10 or 4x5 inches at 72 resolution. Then I save at level 10 jpg.

Thank you, I have a lot to learn, Is there a recent tutorial on images since the changes?

Are you saving your photos as JPGs?
If not you should be especially if they are coming from your own camera. If you are shooting in RAW and saving them as a RAW file they will be quite large.
Which even photo editing software you are using will work to crop and same as JPGs.

Yes i am shooting from my camera most of the time. Thank you must experiment a little.

I use a free program called IrfanView to resize before uploading.

Derek

Never heard of that either; obviously I need to update my training
