Fear Of Another Hurricane

Progress with online marketing was impeded by hurricane Irma for at least four months. The thought of another hurricane is driving fear into the hearts of residents, myself included.

The two Internet servers spent vast sums upgrading and repairing infracture that was 80 to 90% destroyed.

WA ranking dropped over 500 points and it took almost eight months to recover.

We are hoping unfavourable conditions will impede the development; to give residents time to finish repairs caused by Irma.

It was a painful experience being away from WA due to loss of Internet service.

Keep your fingers crossed

You are in my prayers

All the best to you and your community Courtney.
Fingers are crossed.

Di :)

Thinking of you Courtney - fingers crossed that it is better this time around.

Best Wishes
Hazel

Fingers and toes crossed.

Be assured of my prayers that it won't happen. However it's important to have an alternative if possible.

Looks like we will be spared
Just had a long walk on the beach and no one was making preparations

We are facing stronger and more frequent storms. Be as prepared as possible. Food, Water, Medicine, camping equipment... You know the drill. We have to reinforce our structures as much as possible and we need enough personal solar to at least be able to keep the freezer froze. All costs money. We are all looking for financial resilience that will give us the money we need to deal with emergencies and recover quickly when possible.

that is what we all want. WA has taught me what to do. I'm trying to work on it a bit every day. You cannot depend on the Government.

Wherever you live. Evaluate what risk you face and be prepared to protect yourself and your family. Pr-arrange a safe shelter. Have the supplies you need for at least 3 months. Buy microfilters that will allow you to drink from streams and roof runoff safely.

The Government websites on preparedness are filled with impractical BS when it comes to your feet in the dirt. Learn from them but decide what will work and what won't work for you in your situation.

The better trained you are and the better prepared the safer you will be and quicker you can recover.

When you have multiple income streams coming from geographically diverse locations and if your income is enough for you to self finance your recovery you can get back to normal quickly. That is my dream.

I help people plan a resilient life that can handle any emergency. I haven't reached my goal yet but WA has taught me what I need to do. I just share with people what I am doing.

We are facing stronger storms and a more chaotic world. We need the income to be able to safely hunker down during a storm and recover quickly after it.

We are trying but the truth is the energy is low. Too manybisdues and if you see the satgassum seaweed on top of everything else .every beach on the Atlantic coast. But we must fight on.Thanks for sharing

Hey Courtney,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and to all the people in the hurricane zone. NO HURRICANES THIS YEAR!
People need time to rebuild.

My house is in Turks & Caicos Islands, where Hurricanes Irma and Marie went thru hard last October. There are many people there who are still waiting for insurance money to come.

I'm praying... 'where two are more gathered, there I am amongst you'...

Prayer is powerful. Let's keep it going!!

Monica

We are all in the same boat. Insurance seems to be an issue every where.

Yes... it's sad! I really feel bad for the people who are STILL waiting ... doesn't seem right.

Fingers crossed for you all!

Thank you

We're hoping for the best for you.

much appreciated

Hi, Courtney. Glad you're back online and able to continue your good work here at WA. Having lived through Hurricane Andrew when there had not been a hurricane to hit south FL for 25 years, I know how devastating they can be. Will hope for a relatively quiet hurricane season this year. Carol

Best of luck Courtney. I'm watching and praying for you!

The forecast appear favourable, but even a category 1 will be dangerous for the Eastern Caribbean.

Stay safe, my friend. Praying that it will miss you. Carol
