Confusion about WA Blogging Rules

I am utterly confused sometimes when I see a notice in red that instructing me that the blog needs to be unique and not copied from another website.

To begin with the blog was not copied from another website; It was copied from a word document that i personally created. In the Blog I was using a quote from a famous person which is done almost every day on WA.

Is it against the rules to copy a document you created yourself in word?

When I am quoting a famous person I normally like to give some background information on the person in case the reader is not familiar with the person. The background information is available on many different websites and books; I usually like to put that information in my own words.

The one thing that was copied was a photo that was downloaded from wikimedia; was that the reason for the notice in red; I've seen many downloaded images included in blogs daily.

My apologies if I am slow in responding to WA notifications; i am up to my ears in creating new artwork for two important commitments.

How are these notices generated?

Can someone please enlighten me as to my errors.

I think it was the picture.

Perhaps.

I don't know what it could be. I always write my posts in Word first and then copy it to WA and it works perfectly. Except for two times. When copying to WA it froze my screen. So I retried and copied the post from Word to Notepad++ and from there to WA. Maybe it really was the picture.

Thanks for bringing this up. I have had that problem some time ago. I like to do the same as by saying something about the person I am quoting.
I also notice Marion's reply below. I guess the answer is to put things in your own words as much as possible.

Yes I try to do that except for the quote.

I copied and pasted a quote from Albert Einstein earlier today and got the red notice. I just retyped the quote and deleted the copy/paste version and I was able to publish.

Thanks Marion I did a similar thing and removed the quotations symbols. Do you know how the notices are generated?

Yes, I had the same issue and I found by just changing a couple of words in my title the comment went away. Sorry, but unfortunately I cannot tell you what the new rules as or how they are generated.

Thanks Wayne, there must be a key in the system.

Yes, I think so.

The rules seem straightforward, but when confusion exists, guess that are not so simple.

Thanks for bringing these questions, and hopefully the understanding for us all.

The rules seem straight forward, but some of them can be a little challenging.I would love to see a Q and A session with admin.

I received one as well.

I wrote a motivational blog post which was deemed to be insufficiently unique to qualify when I posted it.

I am clueless as to why it wasn't considered unique. It did not include any famous person quotes or any copied and pasted material.

I guess the motivational niche is full with nothing left to be said.

Can't help you there; there is always something left to be said.

WOW! I am curious about the answer myself. I do want to say thiz, however, if you quote anything even if it is from your previous writing, please place quotation marks around them. So this does not appear to be plargised. Blessings to your success.

I always add the name of the person responsible for the quote; I thought placing the quotation marks was the problem; can be confusing; could look like you are taking responsibility.

Can't be the copy feature, Courtney, I write almost all my blogs in Dutch first, then I go to Google translate and translate them into English, copy and paste it into the blog section, correct it by using Grammarly and my own gut feeling, and I have never seen the notice in red.

You seem to know your way around Loes. I questioned myself on the information on the info about the person; there are not many ways to describe a fact; which will be the same in multiple publications.

I think the bot is not to well informed, I get that warning when placing totally original comments too

so you have seen the warning; I misunderstood.

Not on the blogs, I have seen it on the comment section

Thanks for the clarification; I still have not heard on how the notices are generated.

Wow, never seen this notice in red... would be curious about the answers!

I have never had this notice, either; I guess I need to blog here, more!

:D Same here! :D

I have seen it probably 5 out of 300 times.
