Caution With Our Site Feedback

Whoever created this comic drawing, thank you so much.

Our Site Feedback platform here in Wealthy Affiliate is really helpful in taking the pulse of other people about our sites. But...

...we need to be careful sometimes, to change only what really needs to be change, and not be gullible to follow everything people say.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co...

Remember, everyone has his or her own tastes or preferences, what might be beautiful for a person might be ugly for the other.

"Your header looks bad, you should replace that with a better one."

"Why is your search widget placed at the bottom of other side bar widgets? You should move that up to the top."

"Why is your widget placed on top? You should move that down below the Recent Post widgets so it would suggest people to search things they did not find in the Recent Post list."

Things like that.

So, take caution using that one. Take caution following every advice you get from there. Because, if you're not careful, people will push you around like a kid being bullied by his playmates.

Also take note that, some if not all, are giving feedback for the primary reason of getting credits. They might just give you some random feedback that's really not helping.

On the positive side, Site Feedback allows us to see what have been missed by our eyes.

Good luck!

Thank you for sharing this comic drawing . It is so true.

This is a great post! I learned this issue with SiteFeedback a while back. At first, after getting these off the wall feedbacks. I almost decided not to use the site again but, then realized that some of the people may be new to site feedback, or maybe they were doing like you said just trying to earn credits.

So, I started using it again. I know some of the things I was told to do or not to do, where things that Kyle suggested use do in our training. And, that is when I realized not to trust all feedback.

So, I have now come to the conclusion that when using Site Feedback although it can be helpful. It is always wise to use my own judgment of the person feedback.

Thank you for sharing this post, it has confirmed my conclusion...

You're welcome, Lakisha.

It is also good to check the background of the person giving the feedback, how successful he or she is in the field, and checking out his or her own website. Someone who walks the talk.

Okay, good advice! I will remember that when I submit my site Feedback again. Thanks again...

That is a big key.

Good point as usual Gomer, we should give advice sparingly. Answer questions when asked but spare the opinions because what's wrong for some might be right for others.

I totally agree with you. Good advice.
Trevor

I agree, Gomer! Too many people are just out for feedback points without giving honest and constructive criticisms.

I have learned not to take all of the feedback I receive to heart and start changing things willy-nilly.

We need to just take a step back and see if the feedback is actually valid in our eyes before we try to recreate the entire website on the whim of any specific person's opinion!

Jim

I have to laugh at your first comment, about the header. Someone gave me the exact same feedback one time. I stopped using Site Feedback because it is so much personal preference. I have received much more valuable information from the folks here who have had actual success. I feel their feedback is valuable.

Thanks Gomer!

Wayne

Love it. Very good advice Coach!

I have found most of my feedback useful and quite constructive. The only thing is when I ask some for clarification, they don't respond. Drives me bonkers.

David

Oh, they should respond with your questions about their feedback. Sadly, with some people, once they got the points, they're gone.

Hmmm. that's quite true evidently.

There are as many types of feedback as there are people!

Great advice, Gomer! Everyone is different. Thus, every website is unique! Thanks for sharing a powerful message:)
Blessings:)
Suzi

You're welcome. I wish you more blessings, too! :)

Thank you! I appreciate that:)
