Hello to everyone at WA.

I have a question regarding creating and running a website for a company, and can I run it through WA?

I was recently approached after my

Derek has a valid point. If you decide to do this website you can take the skills you have learned here and host a wordpress site with another hosting provider. So building the site would be the same.
Mary

Hi Mary.

I did think about going through Wordpress directly, as the building of the site would be more or less the same as on WA. It just works out to be much more expensive. Where on WA I can host up to 50 sites and only pay one membership, with Wordpress I would have to pay for each site. This is what I have understood from my research. I'm open to correction?

You can get hosting elsewhere Cathryn. I have hosting for an unlimited amount of sites elswhere.

Derek

I will will have to look into it more. I'm really not a guru in all the web stuff so have to do my due diligence.

Using the WA hosting is fine, but should you leave WA for any reason the site will be lost.

Just a thought.

Derek

Hi Derek.

Should the client decide to that they want to change their host at a later stage would I not be able to transfer the site?

Thanks in advance.
Cathryn

Yes you can transfer the domain at any time.

Derek

That works out great for me. The only reason I would leave WA is affordability. So if I have clients paying hosting fees while I am hosting them through WA they are basically paying my subscription for me so I wouldn't have to worry about the affordability anymore.

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Cathryn,

I believe you’ve received very good advice from @smartketeer.

It’s a matter between you and your prospective customer but my feeling is you need to be careful the responsibilities and liabilities for each of the parties are clear.

In particular, you ought to be careful not to take on any liabilities and when you look at it from this perspective the answer to your question should be clear!

Good luck,
Will

Don't see why not and since you are a premium member host the website on this platform, it is part of your package so use it...you do not have to pay for anything extra so go for it, if you decide in a year to move out of WA then you can transfer your site to another hosting company.

Thank you for your feedback. Nice to know it can be moved. Not that I would. I enjoy working on my website through WA. Makes my life so much easier. Once again thank you for your advise.

Hi Cathryn,

Literally speaking you can.

What they need to understand: that will be YOUR website ... And that's true even if you'll decide to use an external hosting service

What I'm trying to say: regardless of where you are hosting the site, if you are the person who will purchase the domain, that will be YOUR site. Which is quite different from being an administrator for a site owned (registered) by the company itself.

Your rights, attributions, responsibilities, etc will be different in these two cases, and I think these are the important points that must be analyzed in this situation. Once you and the company have a clear view on these issues, the hosting platform it's almost irrelevant

Wow, that is something I didn't think of.

This will need to be discussed. which would you suggest is best. Them buying the domain and me doing everything else or me doing it all and simply billing them monthly. I think they will want to have the safety of knowing it belongs to them at the end of the day.

Thank you for your feedback. :)

You''re welcome Cathryn!

The simple and quick answer is yes.

You can create 50 sites if you are a premium member and you can have them all hosted with WA or anywhere else for that matter.

What sites you create and what they are about is entirely up to you as long as you are paying your monthly/yearly subscription.

My advice - go for it.

Enjoy your Monday.
Robert

Great, thanks for your feedback. Do you know if there is a specific way to create a store in WA? (or some type of website that is similar to an online store)

You don't actually say what the company does.

There are quite a few sites that have online stores such as Shopify and WooCommerce but is this the type of store you, or should I say the company is interested in?

Sorry, they supply building materials, tools etc to re sellers. I don't know exactly which type of site they would like if they want re sellers to purchase from the site or if they simply want it to be like a large online product brochure accompanied by product information and pricing.

I am doing research to see the options that I can offer them. I would hate to pitch an idea and not give them options to choose from without even knowing what it is.

will send you a PM directly

Thank you for all your help :)

You are welcome and did you get the PM?

Hi All,

I am looking for a bit of help. Any feedback or help will be greatly appreciated.

I have been a member at WA for almost a month now. I have been followin

Hey Cathryn,
I see some members have provided some help already.
Let me however point to the need for finer keyword research. That's the key to ranking in search engines.

Then do backlinking. I know that's another big stuff but this post can help:

In my opinion, you are not doing anything wrong.

I read your content. It is interesting and informative. Also, you understand what your audience wants and you write for your readers.

The SEO parts of your content are fine as well. Your articles are relevant to your keywords and you do keyword research.

Your rankings will be improved naturally in the next months.

Keep up the good work and keep learning!

Check your competition for your keywords. For example, I checked hedgehog accessories to see who ranks on Google page 1. Plus I checked Jaaxy for keyword info on this keyword. IMO it would be very difficult to rank on page 1. So obviously "hedgehog accessories" would not work. Same thing for "accessories for hedgehogs."

Your site is new. So spyfu.com and semrush.com did not show any competitive data.

You may want to add some additional structure to your website so that the info can be organized. For example, add several foundation/pillar pages. Just a thought.

You have to be patient, you won't rank in google that fast. Aside from that there just isn't enough content on your site for it to be ranked really high.

A suggestion is that if I were you I would go back and revisit the training on keyword research. I noticed you have two articles with the same "Miniature Donkey" in the beginning and that term is just to broad. I also looked up in Jaaxy the keywords for the titles of your first two posts and neither one of those have searches for that keyword ill post an example.

just checked out your site and it really looks awesome great job. i started a little before you but am no where close to what you have done. good work.

The only thing I can see wrong is that you don't have enough time in to gain traction and really see your rankings climb. Google will typically not rank a site until it has 30+ post or 3-6 months online depending on the type of site. Keyword choice is nice but you need traffic and inbound links so some work on social media and forums is advised as well as manually posting comments on other industry sites which have some authority to build your reputation.

You are not really doing anything wrong but there are things you need to get done.

First, your site is not secure so people will leave immediately. You need to go to https. This is in the training.

You need to add your Affiliate Disclosure so people know you have affiliate links.

You can't use the same keywords in titles or they will be considered duplicate content by Google. You started at least two with Miniature Donkeys, and there are other titles that appear to be duplicates of each other.

Each keyword and title has to be unique.

Are doing keyword research using Jaaxy?

Hi There.

I am using Jaaxy to find keywords. However, I wasn't aware that every title and keyword for each post had to be completely different. Is it possible for me to correct this without causing any issues with the links that have been sharing?

I haven't gotten to the section in the training where I go from http to https or the section about adding an affiliate disclosure into the website.

Thank you for your feedback.

Yes you can change the title and Google will rank it quicker. There is a few things you need to do after you change it.

Change the permalink in wordpress edit for that post.
It's right underneath the title. They have a dash - between each word so make sure you do it the same having the dashes there.

Then you are good to go.

I will echo what everyone else is telling you, patience is key in this business. Keep doing the training step-by-step and you will do great.

Feel free to PM me any time if you need any help.

I agree with SteveMand. I really like your website. As you continue to build it, make sure that you link to your other articles and also make sure that you link out to other websites. It takes time to rank and you may be ranking for search queries that you do not expect. As you continue with the training, you will learn how to see everything that you are ranking for (but for now, do not worry about that... I believe that there is a reason that Kyle saves that for later lessons).

So I just checked out your site and I think it’s really well done. The first 3 posts I saw were all populated with affiliate links and I began to wonder if all of your posts were but after looking at a few more I saw this was not the case. It’s good to have posts without affiliate links and reference a post with them for people to go to which you have done.

I didn’t start ranking until well into month 3 on my site so give it time. That said join niche related groups on Facebook and post a link or two a day to your non-affiliate link posts. If you see a question posted reply with something like “I recently wrote a post to address this very question. Check it out here”. Also read those groups. The questions asked can be a great source of inspiration for your next post.

You’re on the right track. Just give it time.

Like SteveMand said, you are not doing anything wrong. I had a look at your website and I think you are progressing well with it. There is good content. Keep doing all the things that you are doing and it will happen. Patience is the key.

My website is on caring for guinea pigs, so we are both in the pets niche. All the best.
