You don't know what you don't know!
I tend to be really hard on myself.
Yeah, I know that comes as a huge surprise to those who know me. I think I should be..... Just fill in the blank. I should be smarter. I should work harder. I should be able to get this more quickly. I should be making $$$ by now. I should. And the list goes on. I should get this. I have more degrees than a thermometer...just not in this. I'm considered an expert in several areas. This ain't one of them!
I 'should' on myself way too much!
I have to consciously remind myself to run my own race. I have to tell myself that I'm doing ok. Patience is not my best virtue! I have to remind myself that I don't know what I don't know. And that's ok. This is all new for me. Seriously!
I started at deficit knowledge
with short term memory issues. Learning new things is much harder now than it was in school. But I am learning. And slowly counts. I don't know what I don't know. Remember those really hard classes we all had? The faculty member would ask if anybody had any questions. I remember thinking...Heck, I'm still trying to figure out what you just said over the last hour! I didn't know what I didn't know to even be able to know what questions to ask!
The good news is that I'm starting to catch on. It's starting to make more sense with every blog post I read andeach lesson I go through. I know there's going to be this incredible 'aha!' moment where it suddenly becomes clear and I get it. You'll hear me should where ever you are - even Kyiv! I just have to patient, run my race and keep at it. Once that moment comes, I anticipate that I will progress quickly from there. I just have to keep working, run my own race and not be so hard on myself.
Just 7 books
The saying is that you will become an expert at a subject if you've read at least 7 books
on that particular subject. I've already tested that theory. It works. So...with that theory in mind, we have Kyle's initial training of over 50 lessons, on-going training, and the resources of some of the most generous and knowledgeable folks in the WA community. I figure all of that comes pretty close to at least 7 books. With all that behind us, I know that I'll get there. Yeah, it would be nice if it was sooner than later, but I'll get there. My 'why' is strong enough to get me through the tough time. And I know I'm not alone in this journey.

This is so true for many of us, I'm sure. I am constantly coming across things I didn't know I didn't know. I find it quite exhilarating at times but have to rein myself in before I immerse myself in something that is a few steps to far ahead.

Being tough with ourselves can block us in our progress. It is better that we move at our own pace as you say so well. Let's focus on what we learn each time we find here. The important thing is to learn and move forward.

I also have short-term memory issues, and because of that, I move slowly through new subjects. I marvel at the new premium members that become certified and high ranking in a month, but I don't feel left out. We all do what we can do. Thanks for sharing!

Don't be too hard on yourself, just enough to keep on the right track as you are, now. I know you are almost there by the way you are thinking about your progress and yes, you are right, with all the resources we have in WA , that "F" word (failure) has no place.
That "aha" moment is not far away, I am sure. I'm off to find 7 books on affiliate marketing, now!

Beautiful thoughts Christine. Kinda goes along with the advice I received 20 years ago in network marketing from a book titled The Greatest Networker in the World.
"It is not what we don't know, it is what we don't know that we don't know."
And think of how much of an Expert you will become with the next 7 books.
