The sun came up!

Good morning, my favorite digital friends! I've been kind of quiet around here this week and just felt the need to check in before I move back into my real estate world. I've missed y'all and have been sending good vibes that everybody is weathering the storm ok.

What have I been up to? Our renters moved out of our investment property in Alamo Ranch area of San Antonio, so I've been working to get it ready to put back on the market. Some of the repairs are simple wear and tear, but much of it...oh, no - so not! Lots of lessons learned this week - most of which I did not wish to experience. Oh, well! Knowledge is never a bad thing and in the end the house will end up being better. I still have some painting of the trim to do. My business partner is a master gardener, so she's working on finishing the yard today. Sunday we'll do the final clean and Monday we'll stage and then tidy up.

But how do you market a house in this kind of event. Buying a house during a pandemic? Going to have to put my best marketing thoughts to use. Open houses? Probably only digitally for a while, But so much of the purchase of a house is how it makes you feel. It's more of an emotional process than people realize. So trying to figure out how to engage the emotions when you can't physically be there is going to be a trick. I have no choice but to figure it out! Wish us luck!!!!

Meanwhile, I have my eye on two other houses in our neighborhood that would make great next projects. And today, I have a teleseminar that was supposed to have been a workshop, so I"ll be on line all day with that. You know me! I hate to be bored!!!

The best part of the week is that my husband, Mike, came home from California. His father was buried Wednesday. And, sadly, one of my favorite cousins on my father's side unexpectedly passed away the same day. It was a rough day to say the least! Such a sweet, loving soul. I'll miss her greatly.

But otherwise, much of the week was trying to get things from the grocery store. We went with a list - silly us!!! It wasn't what do you need. It was more of a what can you find and make do. So we did. We're pretty well situated now and are able to help some of our friends who have lost their jobs from restaurants closing.

We are all in uncharted waters here! Waiting for Gilligan and the Skipper to show up from Gilligan's Island!!! If anybody had told us back in October what we would be facing in March, a few six months in the future, I'm sure we would have all thought they were nuts!

And nuts it has been. Surreal. Insane, Crazy. And certainly scary as this situation continues to evolve. But we'll get through it because we must. It's not like we can stop and get off the ship! So here we are! We'll make it through together!

Hope you and your family are well and making it through ok.

Hugs from San Antonio, dear friends!

Christine

Life can be really difficult at some point in our lives, but you have strong shoulders and thanks to the strength of the love you share with your family things will be better, I'm sure. I am also certain that after this pandemic which will not last, you will manage to sell the house. After such a difficult period, many people want to change their environment, to see something else to start again on other bases. So I'm sure you won't have too much trouble selling it.

Stay safe!
Ingrid

Thanks, Ingrid! Hoping the house sells quickly!!! Keeping fingers crossed! Stay well! Christine

Hi Christine. Sorry for your losses, so glad your husband is back home with you now.

Good luck on selling your house, over here at the moment you would struggle to sell it I think but fingers crossed for you it’s a better prospect over there.

I also love the name of where you live, it puts a great image in your head straight away. A happy image.

Stay safe and well and hopefully we all get past these horrific times quicker than is expected.

Thanks, Alexandra! Appreciate the good thoughts. Hope things are not too crazy where you are. Stay well! Christine

As of tonight we’re pretty much on lockdown. So yes staying as safe as possible.

Take care x

Hi Christine, sorry to hear your losses.
In an uncertain market as we have now, because unemployment is a factor. Price is critical. If you pitch it too high you can end up with a " why hasn't it sold, there must be something wrong with it", when there is nothing wrong with it other than the price. If you are too far away from where you are going to end up you wont get offers. Best I can suggest after selling homes for 40 years.
God luck with everything.
Have a great day.
Stephen.

Thanks, Stephen! Appreciate the input and thoughts. It is located in the hottest area of SA, so thinking good thoughts and crossing fingers. You'll have to check it out on zillow when we're finished getting it ready. Stay well! Christine

Love to. Let me know.
Stephen.

Christine,
First and foremost, I am sorry for your recent losses.

Selling a house in these times is an interesting proposition and a little scary I would imagine. I haven't been following interest rates too closely, but I wonder if money is still to be easily had. Let us know how this venture goes.

Take care my friend.
Greg

Yeah. Would prefer to not have to but...lots of strategies to use. Think good thoughts!

Hi Christine,

I am really glad that Mike is home and condolences on the most recent loss it is undeniable that you have had a most challenging time recently...However the tenants being out is positive albeit the house being sold without buyers getting a feel as I totally agree a house purchase is how one feels about the place and the shopping experience of lets go find what we can find is an experience that everyone is going through. The possibility of new projects must be exciting and as you say all we can do is our best!!

I trust you to do just that...; Stay safe, take care and I trust you are enjoying the first weekend where the normal full compliment of household members are present and correct..;)

Thanks so much! I hate to be bored but about ready to test that theory!

Oh No's guess that means you are expecting lock downs and quarantines!! There is no way you will not be writing more if you are faced with that scenario!! so do not see how the assertion stands albeit partially...;)

Be safe and take care!
