A procrastinator's nightmare!

It seems that wherever you are,

your world has pretty much shut down. San Antonio

starts shelter-in-place quarantine measures tonight at midnight, although we've been encouraged to stay home all week this week.

As of midnight, that changes from 'it's strongly suggested' to 'THOU SHALT' with a $1k fine if you're stopped out and about and not 'an essential person' (i.e. first responder, medical, or other exempt employee). And the National Guard will be backing that up. Essential errands - grocery, doctor, medications, etc only. Yikes!!!

Meanwhile, I still have a house to finish fixing up. Oy!!! The rush is just to be able to get it on the market so we can get somebody into it as soon as possible. It's coming out really well. Just a few things left to do. We've been putting in long days to get it ready. So close, but yet so far! Thankfully, as a landlord providing service for a residence, I am able to continue my work, at least as I understand the new ruling. And since I'm also a concierge, providing services to several seniors, I should be ok for both situations. Crossing fingers that the Guardsman I meet along the way will agree with my interpretation of the orders.

But once the house is done, I am out of excuses!

A wise mentor once said 'You can have results...or you can have excuses. You can't have both!"

I am...

Out of excuses to continue to put off the things I've been putting off.

Out of excuses to get back into seriously returning to the WA training.

Out of excuses to get back into writing, writing and writing some more.

Out of excuses to continue to develop my web site and work on some of the new ones that have come up.

I have another two books I wish to work on to follow the first. I'm still shopping for an agent and publisher. I figure every 'no' brings me closer to a yes.

And I'm out of excuses to tackle the house. My original plans for the year had me working on a room a month. Well......

This situation is truly a procrastinator's nightmare!

Guess I have no more excuses! Time to get back to work and move closer to results!

Stay safe and stay well!

Christine

I’m with you. I can always find excuses to procrastinate instead of getting the things I don’t like to do out of the way. However, I keep my “to do list” following me as a reminder to get things done!

Thanks for sharing!
Blessings and success with your house!
Mirlay

Hi Christine,

We all put off a thing or two but when we do nothing then things start to really back up on us. Procrastination is the thief of time, As you rightfully said, we either get results or we have excuses we can't have both. Thanks for the great reminder!
Wishing you the very best! Be careful! Be safe!

Kind regards,
Nichola

Thanks, Nichola! I appreciate your taking time to share part of your day with me. It's always nice to hear from you. I hope all is well where you are. Take care! Christine

Thanks Christian. I had to make am hour by hour schedule in order to get something done in the midst of the choas. I tend to get sidetrack by all the information and the unknown. It truly is an adjustment. Now we know. Most of us are on lockdown. Let's lock it down and get something done.

Stuck in the office...i.e. home. At least we can get to the fridge!!! Have a great day. Stay safe and stay well. Christine

I don't intend to procrastinate but it will always come when I can't think of something to be done. Things come in our life and we have to prioritize. Unless we intentionally do not act even it's clearly a need for us to do.
Are you a procrastinator or you just prioritize everything?

Mostly, I just try to get too much done at a time and then major deadlines or priorities come up pushing less major projects to the back burner...where they sit. Like this house, unexpectedly becoming vacant. Gotta get it filled asap! Everything else just went to the back burner. Thanks for sharing part of your day with me. It's always great to hear from you. Stay well. Christine

You are welcome,

$1k fine sounds like they mean business. Probably what is needed in a lot of cities and states.

That's great news you will be able to work on the house. We are doing renovations but are now stuck since we have to wait for the inspector. Which of course will be after the shelter in place is lifted. Oh well. What can you do.

I agree, time to get back to work.
Stay safe,
Mickey

Oh to be stuck mid-project. Yikes! Hopefully, it's not too much of a mess and you're not stuck without something critical, like a kitchen. Hope all is over and back to normal soon. Thanks for checking in. It's always great to hear from you.

Stay well! Christine

Funny you would say that. It is the kitchen. Oh well! I just laugh and say we now have a kitchen in our living room. It's actually kind of convenient in a funny sort of way 😂🤣

Oh no!!!!! I hope it is somewhat functional through this. THAT is truly a nightmare!!! At least, it will be amazing when it is able to be finished!! Folks doing work on homes are exempt here because they are working on a residence. Is that not the same where you are? C

They have to come out and inspect and won't during this time. Which is understandable. Once we have the okay we can continue working. We are pretty much getting by with the microwave. It will do for now.

Oh bless your heart! We had friends who experienced a kitchen fire just before Christmas with 5 boys in the house. Oy! We lent them a microwave, toaster oven and an electric skillet to help them get through. It was quite a mess. But at least they got a new kitchen and you will get to enjoy a new kitchen as well...hopefully soon. Good luck!! Christine

Wow! That would be a challenge for a large family. It's just the two of us, so we can get by with the microwave, Forman grill, and crockpot. Hopefully, the weather will start to cooperate soon and we can cook outside. 😊
Stay safe,
Mickey

Gotta love small appliances! They can be the answer to a prayer in a pinch! We just bought a grill for our house. It will come in handy in the coming weeks. Hope all continues to go well. Hugs! Christine
