When hosting items or companies on your affiliate website , make sure the business your promoting or reviewing has a good reputation. Make sure you research customer reviews on the product and keep your eye on the quality of the product and the company.
If you don't , you can give your website a bad reputation to others . Your traffic will associate the product with the company but also through you the promoter. Guilty by association. Which hurts the name of your site because your promoting something that is either a ripoff , poor quality , or a company with poor customer care. Trust is everything and is associated with everything including success.

You are absolutely right about that. I have signed up for a couple of affiliate sites but I did a lot of research about who they were and what products they handled before I decided to sign up. I look for affiliate programs that carry the things I know and use that way I know the quality of the items before hand.
