Hey everyone,
So I just found out that Google is omitting most of my posts from Google search results...its starting to make sense as to why my impressions have gone from
The fact that you are creating How To guides doesn't mean that you should have similar content. Unless you are not creating guides on the very same topic all the time ...
I couldn't find your site on your profile ...
Resubmitting a sitemap is almost pointless if you haven't changed the site structure or architecture. As you said those posts have been already indexed ...
And I have the same questions as Steve ...
They are similar "how to guides"
How to blog about alaska
How to blog about Arizona
How to blog about "insert topic"
So not all of the content is the same. But some of it is.
With so many similar titles especially with similar content (!) it could be an issue
But you can check out the total number of your indexed pages in Google Search Console
I go to Google.com and search "site"www.mindzunleashed.com. Only a few of my posts show up.
Then on the lat page of the search results it says
Then it says
In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 70 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.
When I repeat with omitted results the rest of my posts show up...

Google omitting my posts from search results. help?!

Google site:mindzunleashed.com (with the colon and no spaces) to see exactly what has been indexed.
I see that most of your posts are titled "How to blog about..."
Perhaps your posts are too similar in content.
I've been talking with Zed and he thinks the same thing. If you both think that, looks like imma have to start over.
Do you have any suggestions Marion? You can message me if you want.

I recently decided that my niche was to broad and I needed to go more narrow. As as a result I deleted 23 posts that weren't relevant anymore and a couple pages.
Ever sin
Sometimes, if the deleted posts and pages were the most ranked posts and pages on your blog, then your SEO will surely be affected.

Have you created and resubmitted a new sitemap?
Have you removed the given URL's from the Google index?
Make sure you redirect your deleted post to a 404 page or homepage or the most relevant page. Even though you deleted the posts, Google still crawl your site and listed the deleted posts as 404 error. You might lose traffic if someone click on the links, further it also give a bad impressive to your visitors.
Monitor your GSC closely, is there any 404 error occurred. If yes, then simply redirect the deleted post to your homepage or any relevant page in your site. 301 Redirect Made Easy Customize your 404 page and redirect to your homepage
Well, as suggested by Zsolt, resubmit a new sitemap to GSC and see what is the outcome. Then let us know.

should I make a page that I can funnel people to? or is having a highly relevant wealthy affiliate banner in each post alright?
Hi Christopher,
If every single post is about WA or at least about affiliate marketing, than it's ok
But it would be weird to have a WA banner in a post that focuses on email marketing

Is it alright to do this, espcially if it's relevant?
fullerj, has a good lead for you. I personally would not unless my Niche was about internet marketing. I think otherwise it is a bit cheesy
My target audience is "I want to help people who need help coming up with website/blog niche ideas!"
Check this out. I am pretty sure this is it. How to Promote Wealthy Affiliate with a Niche Website
Boomerpg08’s had a great teaching on this but I can’t find it. If I remember he says the best place to put one is in your about page. I will keep looking for it.
Laura
I wouldn't because a banner in every post makes the entire thing look cheezy. That's why there are very few banner adds in post anymore on reputable sites. In fact the click rate on banner adds are so low they aren't worth the time.
More often than not, banner ads these days are either in the header or the sidebar.
wow this is good to know Mike although I do see some of the big earners with banners on their sites on the right side
Food for thought for me
Vicki
Probably you and i are talking about the same thing when you say banners on the right side and I say in the sidebar.
hmm okay. is there a way to make a banner not look cheesy? Or would you just recommend a image with an affiliate link inserted into it?
Here's what I have to say, and boy do I ever have a lot to say.....
Choose an ad that you like and you think someone else in the world might like..........Then do that deal! (or you could choose an ad that only you like, and no one else in the world likes?)
In the end I see my own websites as a piece of my own creativity whether it's choosing colors, writing articles, or whipping a few ads on the thing.
And the other thing I love about websites, is that absolutely nothing is permanent.
I say smile, choose something, and if you like it leave it, and if you decide later you just don't like it, change it.
I just saw someone (minutes ago) trying to get a banner ad to work on his website, and later realized it was working, but he had ad blocker turned on? Let that sink in for a week or two, about ad blockers.
Just sayin
I wish you the absolute best in all your life endeavors
