Oops! And THANK YOU New Beta Servers!
I think it's handy dandy that we have access to Google PageSpeed Insights right inside of Wealthy Affiliate.
It's so handy dandy, in fact, that I went crazy checking many of my posts.
That's not a bad thing, but I call it on "Oops!" because those get tracked in Google Analytics. (I kept wondering why so many people were on my Data Access page. lol)
This artifically spiked my users yesterday (and will today because I noticed it after I checked a bunch), increased my bounce rate and decreased my page on time rate.
I know Google uses all of that information to decide whether or not to rank you, so I'm just putting it out there...
Maybe space out when you check the numbers unlike me. :)
Now the Good News (The BEST News)
I was struggling with my website being super slow. Like, Google had all of my pages in red and yellow. Not cool.
I asked SiteSupport to throw me on the new beta servers, and they did.
Yay for SiteSupport!
Now look at THIS! Everything's in green. Green, I tell ya!
I have hope that Goolge will start letting me in the door now!
Thank you SiteSupport, Kyle, and Carson! You guys are always making things better, and I appreciate it!

Have you gone on to the new beta servers? What have your results been like?
P.S. Fran asked about the new Beta Servers in a question and you can read the answers there because I don't really know. All I know is that I like it! :)

My old sites numbers are so so and I plan to have them move my one site to the new servers just for the PHP update alone.
However, I just created another site recently and I believe it's on the new server. Look at the numbers on Site Speed, none of my sites have had these kind of numbers.
I wonder when they plan to switch everyone to the new servers.
That is great Christina! Is there any condition or anyone can move to those servers? And is there a possibility that they can harm a website?
I don't know if there are any conditions that need to be met to be moved over. I just asked SiteSupport and they did it, so I don't think so. (Also, I believe we'll all be moved over at some point anyway).
I'm not techie enough to say if there can be any harm done to our sites. I suppose there's always a possibility that something can go wrong, especially since they're testing things out.
But I'm not too worried about it. I'm sure there are backup plans and more backup plans.

Christina, can you shed the light on what the new beta servers are? Some of us have no clue.
I don't really know either! lol. Someone mentioned it in a comment yesterday and said they asked to get on. So I did too. :)
I think they're new servers that WA is testing out to put us all on at some point? I'm not sure. Hopefully someone else knows more and can chime in.

So that means someone is randomly selected to get on the beta servers. I never saw it until you posted this information. I've been away for a week and a half spending time with my mother who came to visit and she left the other day to fly back home to Fargo, ND. Just curious thanks for explaining.
I don't know if you're randomly selected. I just asked and they put me there. You can ask too and they will also probably put you there. :)

Thanks but no thanks, not a computer savvy nerd. Hope you like the beta servers. Keep us posted.
Haha, it's easy. I literally asked "Can you put me on the beta servers?" And that was that. But in any case, it's ok. You'll be put there anyway in due time.

Hi Christina,
That's really great news, your results really improved yay! I am still on the old servers, struggling with site speed. I am green for desktop and yellow for mobile. Hopefully, with the new servers, I will be all green as well.
If you didn't already, you can put in a request with SiteSupport. I assume we'll all be moved over at some point. And I'm not sure if they're only allowing a certain amount of people over, or anyone who asks, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Hi Catherine,
Great post.
I just thought I'd chime in for some of those who haven't read Carson's post about the kracken plugin.
He did mention that the tech' guys/gals have been workin' their butts off on the backend (excuse the pun) Creating a beta version (as stated by Catherine). And all "new websites" will be on the new servers and the transition period for existing websites is going to be in the next two months.
So, calm down and stop clock watching, hehe.
Cordially
Dedo
Haha, I love to be the "butt" of your jokes. I did read the Kraken post and I remember reading something about the servers, but I didn't take it all in.
It's nice to be on the new server because I can tell a HUGE difference in speed. Not just from the Google SiteSpeed tests, but in general. It's much, much faster.
