My Business Took a Back Seat & A Question For You

Today is the first day of school for my kids, and this is a good thing! One, it gets them out of the house and busy with activities again. Two, it gets me that time I need to get my business going.

Business took a back seat over the summer and it shows in my numbers. My website visitors have slipped. A lot.

It's ok because now I have dedicated time to get things rolling again! Consistency is key.

Consistency, consistency, consistency.

Not being consistent over the summer is what made my website take a bit of a nosedive.

Now I'm ready for that consistency. And I have a question for you regarding that. Do you have a schedule that you follow? Would you be willing to share what it is?

I could use a little help with direction and structure to my days so that I'm making the most out of my time. I'd love to get some ideas from you all!

Please post in the comments below if you can share your daily schedule.

Christina,
Bo Tipton has a series of training that leads to a schedule for daily task. Each person will have to decide what is most important to them in their business. Here is a link to his profile-https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/botipton
He is not very active here any more, training is still a great place to start for what is important and how much time to spend each day.

Yes, in fact, I have a journal that I have daily tasks written down and is something that I try to stick to. Mondays I'll have certain tasks which will be different from what I have written down for Tuesday and so on. I'll admit that it has helped, but I haven't always stuck to it. I try to stay as close to it as much as I can.

That's great to know. I think that's what I'm trying to piece together - a daily task list. Things that should be done every day. I think a plan will emerge as I continue on. I hope!

I am continuing with the training Christina. I have made a timetable for each day to ensure I cover all the items I need to.

Derek

Great, Derek! Keep going with that training!

Right now I am working my way through the training, with frequent repeats. However, I do have a plan in mind once I complete all of the relevant training and that is to make a few posts to my website each week; maybe 2 or 3.

In the first quarter of each year my other business, energy consulting and marketing takes precedence. The website for that is:
www.avionenergy.com/energy4less

In some states where electricity is de-regulated it can be a great business year around. But where I live in Michigan only natural gas is de-regulated and market conditions are not good at this time.

Thanks for your response.

Yes, I have a schedule of working on it from 2 - 5 hours/day Monday - Friday. However, I am quite new and have a lot of things to get done. My website has been indexed by Google and I am working on some posts but have not finished them yet. I am learning how to include images as I have one I want to post.

My website, bare bones version is vintageauthors.com.

Best to you and your kids this year!

Thank you for your insights! Do you have a daily schedule? Do you have a list of things that you do on a day-to-day) or even week-to-week, depending on the task) basis?

Hi, the grandchildren have just left us to go back home and to school next week so just like yourself my business schedule took a hit also. Getting back to it today, but one thing that did happen was that I used the down time to re think my approach and made a note of new approaches such as moving to video based blogs if I can. I am retired so my daily schedule tends to be what I want it to be except for one thing. Each morning and evening I walk the two dogs we have for about an hour each time. This is for me a great opportunity to have quiet time, put thoughts in order, plan the day, send iPhone notes to myself if I have a new or different idea to pursue. This is so important for me and I have quite missed this during visitor time. The rest of my daily schedule is to get household tasks out of the way during the morning, watch the midday news and then get into my business more or less for the rest of the day. This may sound unusual but it works for me. If you need more details please pm me, best regards, hudson.

Thanks, Hudson! That's really helpful. I will be working mostly in the mornings / afternoons since my kids are in school then and it's quiet and then household stuff when they get home.

I love that you take quiet time walking your dogs to let ideas flow in. I actually think exercise is really important and also having that quiet time in really important. I have to exercise and move or else I go crazy, so that's definitely in my schedule. And I like to meditate for a bit for that quiet time.

Thanks for your thoughts!
