I'm in a box! (A small milestone)
This is a sort of milestone, I guess.
I made it to a box.
Not the kind the pooch is in up there, but one of those information boxes.
It's on Bing.
Would it be better if were Google?
Probably.
But it's ok. I'm in a box. I feel like I made it to the big-time.
(P.S. I'm reeealllyyyy starting to appreciate Bing more and more.)
Today I posted a review, and it immediately made it to the #1 spot in Bing for the product name + review.
And it made it in this box for just the product name - above the actual product website. (Which is a good thing because this one is a total SCAM.)
As a result, my traffic is up much more today than it has been in what seems like forever, so I am feeling a bit relieved about that.
Thank goodness for Bing while Google continues to ignore my genius. ;)

P.S. Have you been in a box? How did it go with your traffic?
P.P.S. Something I forgot to add: I updated the summary area of this particular post to make it more informational. Maybe that made a difference?

Thats awesome! I was just poking around on Bing Webmastertools myself the other day and noticed a lot of my articles were ranking well over there so definitely gotta love Bing.
Yes, my traffic there is only a little less than Google right now. Google is just not giving me the love that i deserve. Bing lets you rank for ALL kinds of keywords too.
I have a ton ranking in the #1 spot there. None of them are major traffic-producers, but it's nice to be recognized by someone. lol

Exactly and it is great to have an article explode to Google but those little trickles of traffic from Bing definitely helps.
Featured snippets are great! They are like a hack to get lots of traffic, in the last few months I've been getting a lot of them and they do send lots of traffic.
When your post goes into a snippet your traffic explodes because they are so clickable that people would click them instead of the first position or second position post.
Wow that's great, and good for you! Do you find that the featured snippet position lasts for a while?

P.S. Now I know the official name is featured snippet, but I might still like to call it a box. lol
For me, they last for like 2 weeks and then other posts will get a featured snippet and then lose it after a few weeks.
Im far from being in a box. Sorry that Google is an issue for you. Seems strange. Google bots as I recalled your struggle with your site. Hope you get some leads with the traffic you're getting.
Thanks, Brenda! Google just does not seem to be ranking me on much lately. There was something different about this particular post, something new that I did that maybe Google will like?
In fact, I did almost the same review with just a slightly different scam yesterday and that one got ranked much lower in Bing.

Creepy Google. I do not understand their algorithms or how their crawl rates work. Seems they are slow. Since they keep changing their system, the more they mess with it, the worse it got but Jay would disagree with that. He is a SEO expert. He does one to one coaching you know, you can rack his SEO brain. Maybe something is up with your site and Google doesn't know what to do- I am far from being an expert on that.
Oh I know. Google is so fickle. I am always considering Jay's coaching, but I'll play around with it first and see if I can get anything to happen.

I am very new, so off course Google has it's back turned with a big bouncer on the door, saying 'no you are not worthy of getting in!' However yahoo and Bing have said, 'No come in we will take a look at your writing'.
As a result I am getting clicks from Bing already, and I love their webmaster tools must better, it seems much more helpful and pay it forward mentality.
Obviously I will be incredibly grateful when Google finally opens the club door to me, but for now I'll hang out in the Bins camp : )

Haha, that's exactly what it's like at Google. And once in a while they'll let you in the door, but only to see what it's like and then you get booted again.
I agree about Bing's webmaster tools. They're much easier to use and read.
