Of course we are all here because we want to learn the skills of how to make money online as an affiliate marketer. I hope that most of us think of paying into Wealthy Affiliate as an investment into our future.

The goal is to be able to make those WA payments back in income from our websites as it increases and increases over time.

However, we all also know that it takes time to build up a website, build up traffic and start bringing in consistent sales. And paying for Wealthy Affiliate every month can be a real stretch for a lot of us.

What I Heard Today That Can Help

I was out for a walk this morning and I was listening to Gary Vaynerchuk on Joe Rogan's podcast. If you don't know Gary Vee, I suggest you look him up! He's a super successful businessman and is up on all the online trends.

What he said today really perked up my ears. And what he said isn't even new, but it's the way that he said it that really made me listen.

Joe asked Gary what the latest trends are, or what's interesting that's happening online. Gary said flipping stuff.

He's talking about taking the things around your house and selling them on eBay or Craigslist. Again, this is not new. But what he said was...there are HUGE incomes being made this way. (He said that people make a living going to garage sales and the dollar store and finding stuff to flip.) He said...

"Need $5000? It's in your house."

Bingo!

Until you can get your website flowing with consistent income, look around your house and see what you can flip to pay for it. Perhaps it can even be another stream of income if you use the strategy of going to garage sales and dollar stores.

I personally am not great with eBay, so it's something I want to learn how to do better. I'd love to do more of this. We have way too much stuff in our house anyway.

What I also thought would be great is getting my kids invoved. They're 11 and 13 and always needing money. The kids today are growing up in a different way than we did. They're going to have to know how to everything online. Don't you think this could be a great way to get kids involved in their own little side business?

Again, Not New, But...

Again, I know this isn't a new idea. But, if you're like me, you probably were thinking of it as a way to get a little money here and there and it was kind of annoying and not that fun and probably not worth it.

Now I'm thinking differently because of the fact that he said that this is a huge trend that has huge amounts of money attached to it.

I really believe there is money to be had all around us if we just open our ears and our eyes and look for it. Gary Vee just proved that once again.

We live in an incredible time where technology and opportunity is all around us. No more excuses. Take full advantage!

Awesome idea. I have a 2k vacuum cleaner I don't use. I need to put it on Craigslist. Even if I only got $1200 back, that would pay for WA for several years. - Shirley
Thanks for the push.

Is it a Kirby? I have one of those too. It's so heavy that I would love to get rid of it and get something lighter!

- Christina

You know, I hear about people who have Kirbys, but i’ve never actually MET anyone who has one!

Definitely approve of this great idea and it reminded me of one of my favorite posts on WA of all time that I had to go hunt it down.

If you love Gary Vee's idea then check out this post because if a 14 year old could do this then... do I need to say more?

Oh, I can't wait to read this one!

- Christina

That was fantastic, thanks for posting! Another idea to add... :)

One of the best parts of moving out of the country was selling and getting rid of EVERYTHING! You never realize how much crap you own.

I sometimes think about pretending that I'm moving so that i can really make decisions on what to keep and what to get rid of.

I had an estate sale and what didn't sell I donated to the church for their big annual yard sale. 30 years ago when I moved, I said I would NEVER move again. Now here I am in Ukraine. Never say never I guess. Have a great weekend.

I did this years ago. Got rid of everything that wouldn't fit in a backpack! Of course now, I live in a tiny house and have collected books and such for the kids, but that experience helped me keep things pared down.

Great idea! Get the kids involved.
Kind of an updated version of the old garage sales and 'car boot sales' we used to have in the old days.
Used to make a few $$$ out of that!
Good luck!

That's exactly what it is. Have you ever been on the Facebook garage sales pages? I mean, it's a garage sale, but online. It's pretty cool!

- Christina

No, will have to check that out!

Very thought-provoking post Christina, thank you.
(I'm actually writing this from my loft as I'm looking for stuff I can "flip")

Excellent! Let me know how it goes!

Thanks. I've found some old vinyl records. Now I feel really old,

Terrific post and the practicality of the options are so simple. Thank you for sharing and I think that it is a perfect way to get your children motivated. Plus they may make their own income, and leave more funds for WA

Exactly Gary! You get it. Let them make their own money, and leave me my WA funds alone! lol

Brilliant post! Thanks.

My pleasure!

Loved this post. It has given me such wonderful ideas. Thank you for sharing.

Glad it helped!

Well said. Definitely a source of revenue.

It's just another way we can help pay for things. Thanks for reading!

I used eBay many years ago. I was selling discounted products. The problem for me was that someone had the same product I was selling, but at a lower price. I don't know how they did it, but I stopped using eBay. I am not trying to discourage you. If you sell items that you want to be rid of, then go for it. Good Luck.

Chuck

Chuck, I know like anything it can be a competitive place. There are alternatives too. Craigslist and all those online garage sale sites.

It's just another resource to make some extra cash!
