Do you use Google+ ?
I'm just wondering how many of you use Google +? Do you find it helps you at all? I know Google + is owned by Google (I know. I'm super smart for figuring that one out), and that should help your rankings, but...
I don't get it!
It's such a weird platform, and it seems like the WA family are the only people online who actually use it.
(I'm sorry if I've friended you over there and then I never respond to any of your posts. I'm not trying to be rude. Every time I'm there, I just scratch my head and then move on.)
I was listening to the book "Start" by Jon Acuff (useful AND hilarious) and he advised to pick a few key social media sites to work with. He advised that Google + not be one of those sites.
And I don't know, he seems to be doing OK for himself. :) Which makes me think it's not really a necessity to be on there.
What do you think? Google +, or no Google +?

Howdy Christina, good question. We use simply because of who owns it, it does get followers to YouTube videos very nicely. The do have many communities too.

I never used it before WA but it's growing on me. I actually find it more beneficial to me than the others. I have had more follows and referrals from G+ than any other.
I have found that FB and Twitter seem to be made up of people who don't like to read anything longer than 4 lines of text. With G+ in the relevant communities I have joined, people have actually read my posts and left comments!

Hm, that's interesting. I really think that I just need to get used to it. But it's hard to get used to something you don't get! It sounds like you're doing OK with it though. Maybe I need to keep working with it?

I am only using it because it is part of the training. I have gotten a few comments here and there, but that's about it.
Thanks for your insight! On the one hand, there aren't a lot of people there. On the other, maybe it's easier to get your voice heard there? Not sure, but something to think about.

I haven't personally used it for my site really but I look at it like this do what you feel is right because some things work for some and others don't (if that makes sense?). I do know one site that works well with blogs and what not is pintrest I have heard a lot of people using that not just on WA but others that have successful blogs. and kyle does mention it one here to
Yes, I definitely agree! If Google + works for you, great! If Pinterest works for you, great!
I don't get Google + and I do get Pinterest, but what's good for one is not always good for another.

You are right it is always nice to have the training and the videos have a lot of good content in them. For me I use a lot of them as a guideline then tweak them as needed. For instance social media some don't use or instagram to promote their business (because it probably doesn't work for them). Then there are others that do. I go with my gut and if I am still not sure sometimes I will go to the search bar on here and search for it or i just go into one of the search engines and look it up there and come to my conclusions from there
I agree wholeheartedly! I was on there a few times just trying to get an account, and nothing.........Oh well!
Christina, I'd have to agree with you...I go there and ask, Why? But, for some it might be really good. It doesn't connect you with your contacts, it helps you find new ones. There are the "Circles" or groups which enables you to Blog to certain groups. Your news feeds end up being very specific. Google+ can be purposeful, but not for me...

Yea, I don't get those circles. At all. And it's probably just that I need to get used to it. The thing is, I don't know if it's worth the time it would take to do that. Since it's not a major social network, it doesn't seem like the time exchange makes much sense.
I just know that it's a part of the training here. And I'm wondering if that part of the training is up-to-date?

Yes in almost the same way as I use facebook
I guess I'm just used to Facebook, as that's a platform I've been using since forevvvveeeerrrr. I probably could get used to Google + in the same way if I gave it some time.
