Hi there! I'm Christina! I just wanted to give you a little bit of my background, why I'm an affiliate marketer, and why I'm here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Several years ago, I had two small children. (Oh, I still have them. They’re just bigger now.) They were in daycare, and I was working a standard 9-5 boring, soul-sucking job.

I kept thinking “This can’t be it, right? I have to leave my kids AND be stuck in this dumb gray cubicle all day?”

I realized at that time that there were many moms (and dads) just like me who were unsatisfied with their working lives. I set out to find the perfect solution - for all of us.

I found that solution in affiliate marketing and specifically, Wealthy Affiliate. They taught me how to do everything I needed to do, step by step.

That's part of the reason why Wealthy Affiliate is my #1 recommendation.

But it's not the most important part. You can get decent training in a lot of places. What sets Wealthy Affiliate apart is the community here.

You see, when you go along this "weird" path, people in the outside world aren't going to understand.

They think everything is a scam, and they'll want to protect you from that.

There are many scams out there. This isn't one.

But that won't stop people from trying to convince you otherwise. And that's why it's important to have a group of people on your side.

The naysayers will be strong, but we are stronger.

My advice to you is to connect with the community as much as you can. Ask questions. Get help. And just chat with other like-minded people.

We've got your back.

Wow! My goals have changed. I'm not doing that MLM thing anymore. It's all affiliate marketing, all the time now! lol

I'm still behind on those goals, but so many things have changed since then. It's coming along though... not too far off... :)

Hey Christina!

Thanks for following and connecting with me. I am fairly new to W.A., However I’ve been working online for quite a while. Still learning, still learning, still learning.

My background is in the event profession. Still tweaking my niche to figure out how to match up with affiliate marketing.

Hi Christina,

Only difference is that my cubicle is a pale, sad blue color. I'm definitely hoping WA will be able to help me provide for my family while actually seeing them! We're hoping to have add a two-foot addition to the family soon, but I can't do it while continuing where I am.
Your post is very inspirational Christina! Thank you so much for sharing!

Christina,

Thanks for the connection.

After reading your profile and viewing your accomplishments, all I can say is "Wow." You have been here for 10 years and you have succeeded beyond the wildest expectations of many who are community members here at WA.

I am here on a daily basis for the most part. I don't keep track of the hours, but I would say I exceed 40 hours per week. I have that luxury because I am retired from a successful career with a pharmaceutical manufacturer.

I love this place and most, if not all, the people I interact with through connections and occasionally answering questions for others. In addition, working with websites just unleashes so many creative ideas percolating in my brain matter.

I am not sure what is going on with Google. Perhaps they have gotten too big for their britches. Trying to work with and understand the constant changes in Google Adsense is just getting to the point where I am ready to drop their ads altogether. It really shouldn't be that difficult to place their ads on pages.

Google Analytics is also getting to be a pain, as well as Google Webmaster. I have been using these Google products for years and they are just getting too complicated.

As far as the Google search engine and their changing algorithms, many of us are seeing a huge drop in visitor activity. I frequently have to delete pages from my large camping website, and I follow the rules put forth from Google on deleting pages from their search results. I think they may have misunderstood my intentions, as they seem to have deleted all my pages from the search results:(

I'll get through it though, due to my chosen niche and other means I use to get the word out to campers in my home state of Indiana.

Again, I am so amazed at your perseverance and accomplishments with WA. You are to be admired!

Thanks so much for the thoughtful post! I started here in 2009, but left and came and left and came again. So, I'm not that far ahead, not compared to where I should be.

That was a mistake because I had to start right back at square 1. It's all good though, it's the path I had to take.

Why did you have to delete pages from your camping site? I've never heard of needing to do that before!

We're so reliant on Google and yet they're so unpredictable. They keep us on our toes!

- Christina

My pages center around campgrounds in specific towns and areas. Due to the changing times, many campground close and I have to stay current for my visitors.

Google appears to have an effective method of deleting specific website pages from the search results, but in reality, it is not effective. I have to submit and re-submit several times for pages before they finally acknowledge that the pages no longer exist on my website.

I won't allow Google to slow me down, as my niche allows me to find other methods of getting the news of my website to those who camp in Indiana.

I love to travel and have attractive magnetic signs that I affix to both my Outlander and my motorhome. After spending a day or two on the road, I can expect to see an upward tick on my visitor tracking in Google Analytics.

Thanks for chiming in on my Live Event comment, Christina! Everything's quite overwhelming, but then again, I'm only about a week into WA. I'll just keep getting plugged into the training and ask lots and lots and lots of Qs. I love writing and am pretty good at it, I've been told throughout my life, so I anticipate doing great on this platform. Patience and Persistence, and of course Time's on my side as I've been retired for 8yrs+.

Again thanks for your friendly comments. Cheers ;)

If you love writing, you'll do very well! Everything is a little overwhelming at first, but just follow the path the training has laid out for you and you will do fine.

As you go along, you will see there are more avenues to explore, but you'll find out that you'll learn what you need to learn when you need to learn it.

In other words, don't be worried about everything there is to learn because it'll come to you. Follow the training and get the basics down first.

You got this!

And by the way, great advice up top and thank you very much, because I'm truly in need of some!

I'm having some serious issues in the meta-data department! It gets me so frustrated because no matter what I do I can't seem to get it right.

And because of this Im being held back, and keeping me from moving forward!

I can't seem to get past this particular point, especially without having a better understanding of it?

At Yoast, their SEO team says that my sentences are too long in my content and that will cause me to lose potential customers?

What should a person do, myself, in particular, that's in this particular situation right now, LOL?

Cindy, my gentle Rottweiler lady died last year June to be followed by old Missu a couple of months later. Missu came walking in still being a baby in 1995. Hi,
I am having a little trouble with my direction and keywords. I have put it out there and have gotten some answers but i think Im not asking the right questions. I am not getting the results from the training segment I should. My first direction yielded me QSR of 193. One member answered me this way...

"@Nicmar003 Its not a bad keyword but you can do better.

Your ideal would be

QSR under 100 and preferably a lot more.
Your Traffic over 100
Your SEO in the late 80's into the 90's.

I personally try to get my QSR under 50 and even lower to 10 or under and I have to say I can usually achieve this.

He sent me his list of blogs on the keyword subject but it is over my head at this point.

Nicole
Reply
cld111 Premium
Well, QSR is how competitive a keyword is. So, a QSR of 193 means that it's pretty competitive and might be hard to rank for.

What you could do is go to Google, type it in and see who is ranking for it and if you can do better.

It's just a waste of time if it's too competitive because Google will never show it.

So that's why you want your QSR under 100 ideally. Those ones are easier to rank for in the search engines.

Does that make sense, or no?

Yes, Christina, I was raised in a negative household and due to the problems my mom and dad had between each other, all I ever heard was negative words of affirmation. I was the middle son of three boys and I was treated like throw away garbage by my mother because she said I was, "just like my daddy." Anyway, as soon as I graduated from high school cause I couldn't take the mental and physical abuse any more from my mother. But anyway rolling forward to the future, I started listening to Bob Proctor and others and I believe that same as you. (If you want to, read my bio). I've been through a lot of adversity and still I come through with a positive outlook on life. Sorry to bore you but take care and I know you will finally escape the grind of a cubicle and a 9 - 5 job that you hate. I am pulling for you.

One of the things I did last year was visualize myself working from home, doing this full time. And my husband said he would fully support it for at least a year.

If your a proud weirdo than you are my type of person. I see somehow out of thin air you became one of my followers so It is only fair if I reciprocate.....Mother told me never to look a gift horse in the mouth but I am very curious how I wound up having you as a follower?
was I just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time?

Hi Berger! I'm not sure why it showed me as a follower because I still still the "Follow Me" button for you. But, I'm glad you found me anyway! Thanks for following me, and now I am following you back! Now I don't know how you found ME?! lol

I actually received an email that said I had a new follower.....very interesting...... glad to meet you anyway Christina. Life is funny like that maybe its all fate??? Or maybe I was just sitting here wondering how to download a file . I am not very good with the computer stuff. My writing is good. everything I write google has indexed almost immediately but getting the affiliate ads in Is killing me. Do you know how to download a validation code from an affiliate onto my website??

That's so weird, but hey! It worked out, right? I'm not totally sure how to download a validation code. Who's site are you trying to download from? I have had to do a few of the validation things, but I use Wix and I'm guessing you use Wordpress.

I would just Google it, honestly. There's always an answer on Google! :)

Greetings! Well, although I'm much more of a "dog person" I'm a lover of all animals, so I think we'll get along just fine, Christina!

I love meeting people on this platform, so I appreciate you adding me to your network, and considering that you've been around 4 years, I'm sure there's a lot I can learn from you.

Oh, I like dogs too! But I like other people's dogs! lol I'll play with someone else's dog all day. :)

I'm glad to meet you too! To be fair, I was on here several years ago, then I left for a bit and I've recently come back. I learned a lot the first time I was here though. It's a great place, which is why I'm back! :)

Whether you were here the whole time, left a while back, or just started yesterday, there would still be something ai can learn from you. And I'll do my best to sound wise, and hopefully share a few things with you as well.

Welcome back, Christina!

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hey Kyle! Thanks so much for reaching out. I've just rejoined recently, and I have a website up and at 'em already. I'm back here for support and help getting it going in Google, so I'm ok with my niche. But thanks for checking in! :)

WA is definitely family!

It looks to me, because you are here, you know the value of getting it together. It's great to be welcome in the most comfortable wealth building community anyone will need. You clearly have what it takes to develop additional income streams that free your lifestyle and demonstrate the true value of abundance mentality.
Blessings to you!
