It seem to just sit in the same spot regardless of the content you create?
Well, this may not be your fault.
It could be that your SERP competition is much stronger in several aspects.

Hi Jay, I chance upon this old training which is really interesting. But does the link:YourCompetitorURL.com -site:YourCompetitorURL.com method still works? I tried on my website and I am getting results that are not related to my website. Appreciate your advise. Thank you!
Love the Barnacle Seo concept. However, why choose the links my competitors have and not just get links from other authority sites? Why should I replicate their links? Or is it just for getting ideas?
I think you can use links from any authority sites, he's just saying competitors because you should be choosing sites in your niche.
Unfortunately, siteopenexplorer isn't available anymore..
Yes it is. Just moved domains. https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/
oh that's a great news, thanks for informing Jay :)
I was watching this training on reply and I have a question about commenting. What if you go to a page and go to register but there is no place to put in your website? How do you still get the backlink?
Did you find your answer to this question?
No I didn't
i also think hat dropping comments is not practical for backlinks.Because of no follow link.Thats what most WA members do also in their own sites in the comment box. should have checked whether the links are followed or no followed. Other wise its just a waste of time. And does it means if you know about your competitor backlink srategies you can beat them no matter how tough is the pg1 competition?
