Last week’s Hello series was so popular we decided to do another one!
Google now has an awesome dashboard to manage all your Google+ pages and it is a real time saver for you (and your clients).
Join Jay this Friday July 15th (5pm Pacific) where he will walk you through everything you need to know about Google My Business.
i need all the knowledge I can understand .Thanks Jay !
OK, I set up and verified my account. But there is absolutely no place to add a brand page. I did as you said and went to business.google.com/create and it sends me to a new sign up page not a place to add a brand page. This is totally frustrating. Before I cancel it is there an answer to how to add a brand page?
I think Google either replaced it with a new feature or simplified the process. You better ask from Jay (https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/magistudios)
Yes I went there and it said to create a google plus page click on the g+ symbol on my "act as" area of my brand account. As you can see on my screen shot, that symbol is not there. Doug
Jay, I asked about google plus brand page at google and finally got this reply. See screen shot. Doug
Jay, I have a gmail account, a personal account. I went to google my business and its asking me for my address phone number, etc. What is all that about. I tried to go to business.google.com/create and it says "can't find that page". I am not a social person, meaning I don't do facebook or any of those social medias. Is it normal that they ask for all this information or are they trying to create a brick and mortar business listing. I am lost here, please help. Doug
Google my business is indeed for a business. To get a listing you will need to provide your businesses contact details. this includes phone number and address.
Hi Jay. Thanks so much for this training. I have run into a snag with my Google My Business. I'm kind of lost. They have suspended the 2 websites that I have tried to attach to Google My Business. Security System Zone: http://securitysystemzone.com Surveillance Pros: https://surveillancepros7.com These are basically the 2 arms of my business. Security System Zone is more general and can be done online. Surveillance Pros is more local and service/installation oriented. I got the postcards in the mail. And I verified everything and was 'listed' for a while. Then they suspended them eventually. I'm having a devil of a time trying to get them into compliance with their guidelines for several days now. In the meantime, my sites are not published on Google Search, only on Google+. This of course pisses me off because everything we do here is about getting ourself found on Google Search. I think the problems they were having was twofold. And I've tried to fix it a couple times. 1. I shouldn't have had a street address listed because I don't have a storefront. 2. I shouldn't have had hours listed because I don't have a store for people to come into. Once I make adjustments, I appeal for the pages to be reinstated. I've tried to do this a couple times, thinking I had done the right thing. After a couple of times to do less, I finally decided to take my address and also all hours off. I'm waiting again now on the appeals process. It can take 24 to 48 hours they say I've tried calling into Google My Business (844-491-9665). A few times to try to help expedite the process. Only to be told that it'll take 24 to 48 hours for all of the checks to be completed. After this last time doing the appeal to be reinstated (last night), I got an email from profiles-support saying I didn't put in the correct google+ profile in the form for the appeal. omg. so frustrating. So I replied with all 5 of my google+ profiles and now I'm waiting again. So frustrating and confusing. Tedious. Do you or does anyone else have any ideas for me? WTF right? Tim
Hey Tim, Google only wants you to have one verified GMB listing. This means trying to register brands / sites with the one listing can cause issues. Also, the security industry is notoriously hard to work in in the eyes of Google. Locksmiths and GMB listings are very well known to be difficult to approve. i know this is not exactly you but it's related. I would consolidate your profiles down to one main profile and brand page that is associated with your GMB listing. Choose the site you own that is most relevant to the listing. As you say, the "pros" one is more local, so I would use that. Make sure you have the NAP listed on this site. You need to make sure the NAP is consistent across EVERYTHING. Not doing so will cause issues. I would also get rid of the WA banners and anything to do with making money online from these sites. This is not relevant to the audience and if Google wants to it can take issue with this. I have a lot of experience with local and if you need any assistance please pm me
Omg this is so helpful. Ty Ty Ty. I think I understand everything and I'm on board with everything you say. What is nap though?
