Are you doing your house-keeping?
Hi Everyone
For the past couple of days I have been re-grouping and reviewing where I started with WA in mid May.
With so many ideas in mind, I quickly go started with 3 websites. 'Transform Your Life' was my first. The idea was little tips and plans for personal life transformation. Following closely was 'Wealthy Affiliate Mum' to market Wealthy Affiliate. Finally, the third, called 'My Blended Family'.
Needless to say, a lot to take on, but for me, it seemed the best way for me to get clarity.
I have been getting along through the training, and arrived at course 3 lesson 6 and 7, and on went the handbrake!!!
AdSense originally accepted me, then on second review after activation, have declined me, due to lack of content. Co-incidentally, I joined Rakuten/Linkshare and on trying to get accepted with some of their listed companies as their affiliate, got rejected due to lack of content.
I would be lying if I said that I was not disappointed, but rather than let that beat me, I have gone back to basics. Back to all of my sites, reviewing what I put on there way back at the start. Giving some meat to what I have written, changing things around, and in general, doing the house-keeping to get it up to speed.
The next task, research and content, feedback, and more site building and cleaning. Looking at my site through the eye of those who have said not enough, until I feel it is enough to be proud of.
Loving the learning curve and the challenge.

Hi Cindy I am trying to learn the basics slowly so they sink in and I don't have to go back over them again and again. like I usually do. I certainly think there is nothing wrong in reviewing lessons..not so good if you didn't get much the first time. You have got the right attitude and I admire that.

Ya, I am back at that again too. I want my business to succeed but I need to go back to basics and start over. So that is what I am doing.

That's the name of the game Cindy.
Your niche has to be focused enough to ensure Google (and other advertisers) that they can advertise to a focused set of visitors. In addition, they want enough focused content there to keep those visitors on site for a while.

I've been doing mine Cindy....carpets are all clean, washing all done and put away, dishes washed and back in the cupboard...all sorted!
Now, what was all the build a website stuff all about? hahahaha

Hey Cindy,
The point about housekeeping as you call it is really soooo important! From my perspective, there is so much information thrown at you when you start, it is easy to get lost, disorganized, lose focus on the main considerations involved with the business...I have the same issue...
My solution was to do a daily AAR (after action review)... I go over what got done, what didn't, and why it didn't... Also gives me a chance to make sure I keep my eye on the outcome I am working towards...
There are imperatives that need to be considered throughout my work, so if I see that I am wandering, I adjust and hit it again the next day... I find I can avoid some distractions this way (so easy to fall into the learning only mode, so much out there you have to pick up)...
In any case, congrats on taking the time now to refocus, and I am sure you will be successful... Keep at it! You have something important to tell the world!!!

I understand what you are saying and also think it is important we don't give up but research our own business model and look for way to improve it. I was also turned down for an affiliate spot for lack of content. I am guessing that we will need to really get on the ball and increase content before any real things will happen. That's ok though. It isn't the work that is difficult its the wait! Keep going!

I find the more I learn here, the more tasks I need to do on my site, lol. ;) It is very challenging!! Cindy, you are indeed fast, three websites, I can only handle one website, lol. ;))
