Its the Singer, Not the Song!
Here in the south of the UK, we have been experiencing unprecedented rain storms throughout this month so far. Since yesterday, the storms have been pretty bad and this morning, commuters were caught in a total meltdown of the transport system. Serious chaos abound. I was caught up in it too.
A 35 minute journey took me 2¾ hours this morning. It was frustrating but I didn’t feel frustrated. Persevering and taking 5 different transport systems including my legs got me to my destination eventually.
Why am I sharing this?
I was curious as to why I never felt fussed or stressed by today’s situation and I had to interrogate myself to understand why because I felt as if I was on the outside looking in. It dawned on me that the way we interpret situations and the meanings we assign to them affect how we feel. I could have chosen to feel frustrated and tense; cursing the weather and transport system, but I decided to see the chaos today as just one of those things in life.
Sometimes we blame circumstances (the song) but actually it is our attitude (the singer) that determines the altitude we reach and how we come out on the other side.
Have a good day, rain or shine :)

You're so right, Chuka!
Could be seen as a freedom which no one can take away from us.....
Indeed Therese. Anytime I feel miserable, I go back to think of the source and how I created that feeling through my interpretation. Still work in progress :)
Yes, this happens all the time. Always finding ways to shift the blame. Thank you for pointing it out.
Crazzzy weather and crazzzy commute, but the song brought you joy, and that is all that matters ~ hugs
Sorry you are experiencing the adverse weather, I was surprised when my daughters said how the weather was been fortunate in Scotland which makes a change hope you have a better day tomorrow

Funnily enough, I was also writing about the rain today. We can choose to blame it and sulk, or we can choose to enjoy the freshness of the air after it stopped...:)
Absolutely right Vera. At the moment, it appears to be the focal point. I think of it as clearing the earth of pollution :)
