Feel the FEAR but DO it!
This is not about the book, but it came to my mind yesterday.
In my coaching world, I needed to go through some rigorous assessments to gain further qualifications in my area of interest. I had to do the final assessment but the choice of dates rested with individuals.
This was one of those classic cases where procrastination becomes a valuable ally. This is because several things had to happen and be in place for a successful assessment to be had.
I didn’t think I was ready and perhaps never would have been if I waited for everything to align. Three weeks ago, I made the dreaded call, confirmed my assessment day for yesterday without having any idea who my assessment client would be.
Talk about sailing close to the wind! It took me a while to find the ‘right’ person, in fact 10 days. Was I panicking? Perish the thought (not…)
Fast forward, I had the assessment yesterday afternoon and came out with fantastic flying colours :-)
Why am I sharing this?
If I allowed the fear I was feeling, which was absolutely “False Evidence Appearing Real”, I would still be sitting here dreaming about the day it will happen.
When we make a decision, somehow we begin the see answers that were always there but we couldn’t perceive. Everything can never fall into place in any given situation. That’s why I allowed myself to feel the fear but went ahead and did it anyway. How cool’s that!
Taking action friends, no matter what...

That makes the two of us Anne! Life experiences always tend to have tiny, invisible tentacles that connect others.
Indeed Felix, I agree. It's taking that step against the backdrop of pounding heart, sweaty palms and the lot. It feels so cool afterwards :)
Yes Is easy to say but when you are in that moment it is really heart pounding but you need to be clear in your goal and go for it but is the best way to learn you have to do it
I absolutely enjoyed reading this because I always tell my family how important it is to overcome ones fear by facing them head on. Never, ever allow fear to win!!! Good for you...you knocked it out!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!!

I really like that...False Evidence appearing Real. Good for you that you were able to harness the energy of fear and turn it into a positive force to motivate you!
