Every blogger and webmaster wants more inbound links. This helps them improve SEO and traffic. But, how do you do it? What is the key to success?

Listed below are 10 secrets to get more inbound links. I have used all of these tips myself and they have helped me a lot.

# 1 Have a Game-Plan

You should have a written plan for every aspect of your business, including your link building strategy. Know exactly what you need to do each day, week and month to grow your inbound links. Be deliberate and don't wing it.

# 2 Develop EPIC Content

Your content should be so good people say DAMN, after they finish reading it! Pardon my language, but I hope you get my point. If your content is mediocre or boring, don't expect many people to share it or link to it.

# 3 Leave Blog Comments

For whatever keyword your aticle is about do a Google search for that keyword. Check out the top 50 websites ranking for that term. If any of those websites or pages allow you to leave a blog comment, leave an insightful comment with a link pointing back to your post.

# 4 Repurpose Your Content

I talked about this in another article I wrote, but you should repurpose ALL of your content into videos, podcasts, PPT slides and other formats and then link back to your original post.

# 5 Post on Forums

Find one or two relevant forums in your niche and leave thoughtful comments. Try to leave 3-5 comments per week. Write a great repsonse and have a catchy signature file that directs people back to your blog.

# 6 Link to Other Bloggers

Whenever you write posts and reference other bloggers, cite the source, and link back to their website. Most bloggers receieve trackbacks so they know when someone else starts linking to them. Many of these folks will link back to your artilce.

# 7 Article Marketing or Guest Blogging

Guest blogging is huge. You can post articles on someone else's blog and include an author bio with a link back to your website. Or, you can post an article in one of the different article marketing directories linking back to your content. Yes, this still works.

# 8 Ask for Links

At the end of your article or post, ask your readers to link to you! Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

# 9 Don't Forget Internal Links

Don't forget your internal links. If you own more than one website, you can link some pages on one website to a page on your other site. Just don't do too much of it. Also, you can do internal linking on your own blog to give your specific page some extra link juice.

# 10 What Not to Do

I'll add this one as the last tip. Do NOT buy links for any reason. Do not do anything shady to try and trick or manipulate mother Google. Also, remmber that one quality link is better than 1,000 shady links. Be patient and realize that it takes time and hard work to get a lot of quality inbound links.
