Onwards We Go

After a long break in my Bootcamp training, I resumed it again and I am moving at a good speed now :-) Writing a Wealthy Affiliate review seemed a little daunting at first, it was so far removed from my chosen niche ... but it went well, I even wrote a longer post than I did when I wrote my first post on my first website. The WA review took me a little longer, but I was happy with the result. So there you go, one more WA review, honest and clear :-)

Then another blog about a topic I usually don't write about, so I related it to what I love, and off we went again. I think I'm getting the hang of this now, writing in a different niche is a nice challenge, and I like writing challenges - I love writing anyway, so that's why ;-)

I was going to take another lesson tonight, but I feel I have no energy left. WA is full time work for me, lol. Website comments, writing articles, looking for photos, cooking for my website, creating recipes for my website, affiliate links - that takes time for me, but that's because my laptop is too slow ;-) , sharing on social media. You know, you do the same thing, lol, perhaps except for the cooking for your website part ;-)

The good thing is I get to eat it all and I enjoy everything I'm doing on WA, so I am so looking forward to making this my full time income. Although I haven't made money with my affiliate links yet, I made my first $5.50 US on Wealthy Affiliate, yay, haha, a little bit, but to me it's an achievement; it's a small achievement that can grow bigger in time, and before we know it, a few 0s will soon be added to that 5,50 :-)

Looking after this farm in the jungle, where I'm staying at until November, is also wonderful. Although the place is close to the village street, once you are past the gate, it's all jungle everywhere ... the town is gone, and I feel as if I'm in the middle of the deep jungle, it's beautiful. And it's relaxing.

Tomorrow, a tropical storm is expected to hit here, and like it happened the last time, a little over a week ago, it is possible that I won't have internet for a day or two ... so, as much as I would like to resume my Bootcamp training tomorrow and be active on the WA platform, if there is no internet, I guess, I will be incommunicado for one or two days, we'll see. (It's hurricane season).

So, I'm signing off now, go cook for tomorrow (not for my website this time ;-) ), enjoy some Netflix, and then have an early night. See you after the rains :-)

That sounds, excellent, Christine, finding that environment where we can be productive can make a huge difference.

Best wishes, as you continue to expand your online presence.

Thank you :-)

Nice post, Christine. Life in the jungle would be very daunting to me. Almost claustrophobic in fact. I enjoy our town because of all the evergreens and deciduous trees I like to live in the wide open spaces, but I also like driving through a forest. The storm part would really destroy my calm I'm afraid. Glad you can handle it.
I look forward to your continued posts "after the storm."
Be safe,

Linda

Hi Linda,
The storm changed course and missed us. It went to the mainland and caused damage and floods there ... So, we were very lucky here. It just just drizzled a little last night :-)
I like evergreens and deciduous trees, they have become something "exotic" for me, since I have lived in the semi-desert for so long now ;-) They are beautiful trees.

You have an exciting life and are building a steady business, well done.
Keep up the great work and attitude.

Lily 😊

Thank you! I will :-)

I hope when the storm has come and gone, your internet is still there. Take care. You made an inspiring story of what you have been "cooking" these days. Congrats! - Florentino

The storm missed us, fortunately. Everything is fine :-)

Thank God. Good to hear it from you. Be blessed.

Sounds like a good plan. Hope internet issues work out ok.

Yes, let's hope it won't be for long :-)

Great progress Christine. Glad you have a nice place to relax for a while and enjoy the niceties of having power and internet access.

Stay safe.

Michael

Yes, it is. I'm going to get a small 12V solar panel to start having some electricity when I go back to my land. I don't want to go back to living with no electricity, so I am going to be looking at options. :-)

I don't know how you did it. I admire your efforts in taking what you have and making it work!

There's quite a bit of DIY information on the web on using batteries (like car batteries) to store your energy from solar panels, connecting it all to a DC-AC inverter, and supplying you with some standard household current (120v AC). It wouldn't take a whole lot to give you enough power for a laptop, internet modem, and a couple of lights.

It's something you could start small with and grow over time. I've seen some pretty cool setups for folks in Alaska living off-grid.

I'm a tech guy and I can't resist stuff like this, what can I say...

Cheers,

Michael

Today I am going to check online to see if can find a video on how to convert an ice cooler into a fridge, it can be done. I know someone who did that, he connected a small solar panel, a battery, and cables to his ice cooler and turned it into a fridge. Too bad I lost contact with him ... I want to do that, and start looking for materials.Do you have any suggestions, being a tech guy ;-) ?

Sounds like you're making great progress as you move forward. Keep up the good work!

Be safe! Golly it is hard to imagine how calm you are during this time. I live in Wisconsin and all we really get are tornadoes, We all get pretty nervous during that season. Take care!
Michelle

Tornadoes are scary to me ... they are so destructive ... That would really make me nervous too!
Hurricane damage depends on the category. I've been in bad ones (the worst one being category 5, which I hope never to experience again ) and "milder" ones (category 1 or tropical storms). Like you probably do when tornadoes come, we learn how to prepare for hurricanes, and then just wait it out ...
